Equalizers
 

Hello Smart Fly,

I will be building a Carden 35% 260 this winter. I will have Hitec 5955's on all control surfaces.

So, here is my question? Do I need a power expander sport to use the equalizers? If I have two servos per aileron I should be able to connect both servos into the equalizer and then the universal connector on the equalizer to the receiver. Is this the right way to do it or do you have a better recommendation?

Hi Shane,
You do not need the PowerExpander to use the Equalizers BUT you will see improved servo performance on this size plane if you use a PowerExpander. Its really up to you, you will get more torque and faster servo response with a PowerExpander than just running off your receiver. If you are thinking about using 2.4GHz technology then a PowerExpander is a definite recommendation to prevent receiver reboots.

I have a 33% laser that has to Hitech 645's on each side of the rudder, I have it set to where they do not fight against each oter execpt occasionally, so I bought the EQII. I am not clear from the instructions how I am to balance two servos one pulling and the other pushing.

Help?

Hi,
I would imagine you need to reverse one servo. I would hook one servo up to output A and see if it moves in the right direction. If so, unplug A and plug the other servo into B and see if it moves the right direction or needs to be reversed. If it needs reversing follow the instructions to reverse a servo. Then I would unplug B and plug A back in. Set your center and endpoints. Then plug B in and match it to A so that the servos are not buzzing.
