I need help I have a proboat apache 24 all stock I installed a 550 Titan motor 12 turn and it fried , I than installed a gruenper 600 bb and it fried after about a half battery , I than installed a 17 turn double and it fried after 1 full battery . I'm running a 2 cell battery 25c 4000 mah so I'm not running too much voltage . The prob is stock I'm guessing i have to prop down but what size.? The shaft is free and well lube so I know there isn't any binding.

You sure it's the motor? Have you tried them in a different setup (esc)? Is it the stock esc?
* It maybe esc issues and the esc is either bad and just not working or bad and destroying motors.
If you look at the specs it's only rated at 15t motor& 40amps http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...314#quickSpecswith that being said the titan 12t probably damaged the esc and now the esc is just taking motors out. Just a thought and I maybe WAYoff.... Lower the turn normally more amps it can pull. its higher topend less torque so the motor could have pulled to many amps. Like Isaid just a thought I could be way off.

Yes the esc is stock and if it was damaged wouldn't it heat up ? It was warm to the touch when I was running the 17 double, the motor got so hot it the postive wire came off.

Not neccesarly. if the positive come off it could have arched and shorted something internally. Sounds like something went way wrong with your setup if wires are coming off. Sounds like the esc may have shorted or gone bad. New esc/new motor. Make sure the esc can handle whatever mtor you get.

The stock apache prop is like 34mm maybe it should be fine. I spun a 42mm prop on a titan 12t before. I used a xl5 esc also. The titan motors are junk though to be honest. If it's frying different motors. It's more then just a prop

So you don't think I should put a smaller prop on.
