Welcome to the EP Racing Boat Thread.
There seems to be allot of these boats out there, but no threads about them for basic support and discussion.
Well let's start one...

Well I'll start with mine,
It's stock, apart from some nimh 7.2v 2400mah batteries. The stock dodgy yellow 1800mah battery was dead on arrival.
Here it is, and again next to my rustler

Well becaust the electrics are all toy grade I'm not to fussed if I kill them....
So I've wired the 2x7.2v 2400mah batteries in series, it now runs on 14.4v... Ill get some vid's while river testing.
Here is it's first water test on 14.4v
Dont mind my son at the end, poor thing it scared the hell out of him

Still yet to get to the river, its been a slow morning.
But ive does this..... there were 2 small holes in the hatch cover so I found some plastic with a cool pattern and cut it down & glued it in.

Untill I can get some hockey tape I will use some PVC tabe here it is all taped up, Ive allso removed the QC stickers and the stupid one on the back

plans.....
Go brushless with 2.4g radio, Im planning to use my traxxas link 5ch controller that i use for my cars so ill need another reciver & untill i can fit a rudder, I might use electric chanel mixer to controll vector push steering. ive found some 100a ESC's that i want for only $30 with water cooling
Watercooling, i plan to use twin metal pickups, unlike the villian that uses only 1, because I will be running 2 ESC's and i dare say it will be a hotter system.
Well I plan to replace the whole driveline with the Traxxas villain out drives. and reinforce the transom with some left over Carbon fiber

Well i fitted some new motors from a ride on car that can handle 24v and connected automotive 30a relays to power the motors
but when I saw soldering the bits together, i forgot to disconect the battery and shotred the curcit board out on a motor......
now the stock reciver/ESC is dead [
]
spewing, because it woud of been powerfull....
back to the drawing board.....

OK ive started my order, Ive been looking at the real offshore racing boats and have decided to go with a twin prop setup again.
This time im using Traxxas spartain parts, ive got the gearboxes, gears, drive shafts and props on order. still need to order the outdrives.... next fortnight
one thing, the back of this boat looks very thin, is it worth running a Carbon fiber plate for the rudders to bolt onto? or just to make it stronger?
would anything be better??? its just ive found some CF sheets cheap

Well I'm not to sure what to use yet, I've been eyeing of these 150a water cooled esc from eBay.. Only just over $30 each.
It's just a matter of what motors.. I dare say I could run a higher kv motor or more voltage than normal if I stick with the twin prop setup..
I've got slot of working out... Prop size, motor size and kv, voltage, gear ratio....
But thanks to Ryan there is a great guid in this forum.
I've seen crazy speeds and torque from those ezrun 35a hot boxes on 3s with 3 of my cars, so I do wonder what to expect from something like this with twin 150a esc And 4300kv pluss motors.... That's why I'm going for the traxxas setup, I really like the motor mounts and the way they are connected to each other with a alloy plate, only down side it the plastic uni joints, but they can be replaced with steel ones... Oh I can't wait...

WOW dude
that is one well built boat, Everything is nice and neat.
Ive notied its got everything, nulock nuts, taped connectors, velcor battery straps, even custom supports for everything.... cool
im still learning but why are the rudders off to one side?
is that to help turning right? or to help with motor torque?
