Proboat mystic pnp with spektrum DX7
I have a Proboat mystic pnp. I'm using a DX7 with an airplane receiver for it. It works but I feel it doesn't work very well and a little hard to go at low speed.
Do I need to set up the ESC differently?

The slow speed response of the esc isn't the greatest, also not supposed to run at low speeds, much harder on the esc, more heat due to the FETs switching.
I wouldn't run an air Spektrum RX in a boat, even Spektrum themselves warn you it's not a good idea, pretty sure a marine RX will bind to your radio, a surface (car) esc won't. Different protocol.
You can easily fine "new" marine RX's from Proboat products that people are selling cheap who use a different brand of radio, bought 3 or 4 this way.

With SPektrum air esc's over water yes. I don't know all the technical details but I do know that there is something different about the marine RX protocol, Spektrum themselves admit range problems on water and do not recommend it.

Wow, I would have thought air receivers and transmitters would be the best due to distance more channels (information) and possibly distances used at. Fair enough though- good to know. Cheers
