Default proboat blackjack 9 converted to brushless, with lipo.

Picked up a bl9 a while back. And although it's a great boat stock (aside from the batteries that last 5 min) I had to beef it up. I'm running a eflite park250, 20amp mystery esc, 2 and 3s lipos, and spektrum dx2e radio. It's fast, but creates too much prop wash and momentum just stops. Really have to ease into the throttle. Anyone have any ideas on a new prop? It's a 2mm shaft, and I think I can get up to a 28 maybe 30 mm prop. I've been searching to no avail.

No I don't have an answer, but I'm also looking for a prop upgrade for the 9" cat's.I have tried a Double Horse 7009 and ft007 prop and neither fit unfortunately.

Well, I haven't found it yet. But I can tell you the gruapner y531 (smallest my local shop had) doesn't work for brushless, but worked great on the stock bl9. Had to make a new prop shaft adapter to use a 1/8 dog and prop on 2mm shaft. The 31mm was way too much for brushless. Just flips the boat if you give it any decent amount of throttle. I have a few 2 and 3 blade on the way from 26mm to 30.

I doubt you'll ever be able to fully tame that brushless motor, its gotta be fun trying though. On the Litehawk I built I just used a Redcat Sumo brushed 180 with a hotter 30a Miniz esc and I'm having trouble going beyond 3/4 throttle now.In this video I gradually accelerate until it barrel rolls around 3/4 throttle.

Have you seen the Joysway Offshore Sea Rider Lite?Ujtoys has a few of them on sale this week for $65 shipped. Its hard to refuse a Catamaran twice the size at a comparable price.

It WAS fun, until it Submarined and did 9 laps around the bottom of the pool before the esc and motor shorted out. On 2s I maybe got to half throttle, but 3s is insane. With the 31mm prop it barrel rolled off the start or jumped a foot or so outta the water. I've already got new parts, just might have to tweak the esc for a slower start. Even on 3s though the Temps never got above 90* on the motor or esc. I'll get a video after I put it back together again .

Nice I'm excited to see your video. The Blackjack 9 comes with a 2 blade prop right?Have you thought about trying the smaller 3 blades off my boat?I haven't seen any cavitation issues with these little 3 blade props, my torque roll is happening when the prop leaves the water and the rpm suddenly increases. The Steerix 9 props are identical to the Joysway and Litehawk props so if you decide to try them just buy whatever costs the least.

The bl9 comes with a 20mm 2 blade prop. On a 2mm shaft. How big are the props on your boat? I looked at them online but couldn't find any dimensions. Hopefully the new esc shows up this week so I can test it out and get some video. I'm going to start using radio box tape so I don't burn another set up. That sea rider looks like a sweet little boat. I got the 9's at a local hobby shop. Bought 3 of them. (Mine, my father in law, and his buddy) so we can race in the pool.

20mm with a 2-3mm hole, but you gain a 3rd blade.That's a Steerix 9 prop off Amazon

Would you happen to have a video or pics of how you mounted the park 250?

I can never get pics to load on here. I would honestly advise against going brushless. The concept is cool but it's honestly wayyyy too fast for a pool. It's about the equivalent of a 1000hp go kart. Lol. I'm actually thinking of just selling it and buying a new stock one.

I had to make a motor mount out of aluminum. It won't let me load pics here. Pm me your email address and I can email pics and tips to you.

There's a water jacket available for 12mm inrunners that bolts into the stock motor mounts.
