The 1818 is for Q S and T sport hydros in two lap or oval trim but Im at a Delima with these aspect ratios and the straight shaft angle in Finlay plans. Its 6 %. A 6 degree angle of attack on this prop only promotes more lift and drag. I have a long 1/8 wire drive but I dont know if id want to put a bend in it to set a strut AOA of zero degrees. I dont see the need to add lift to these props in AOA setup. I may switch to 1/4 inch flex but I really didn't want to do that. I guess id accept 3 degrees in a straight shaft setup. I really need articulated ball pin universals to take advantage or straight shafts but I think that's a stretch at 90000. For a 30000 rpm something can be built of the lathe.

Here s some theory with the prop and my hand wound motor. Specifically wound in a Kv suitable for 10 s lipo in a boat.

Here is the Plot data based on the motors measured constants size type and weight:
33,940 rpm
153 amps
Pin 6.394 kilowatts
Pout 6.125 kilowatts
Run time 3.85 minutes
Est speed 90.12 mph or 145.03408 km/h
Eff. 95.80 %
Rm .oo5 Ohm
Kv 824
Io 3,27 Ampere @ 22,5 Volt einschließlich Radiallüfterlast.
Gewicht 448,8 Grammut
They are here also to put into you own calculators but here is the straight math on the motor for peak Eta....

Should be an excellent T or S sport hydro motor. It will power an 1/8th scale beautifully though not approved in a sanctioned 1/8th scale class. Its only 448 grams!
Regards,
Hubert

I know you've all seen the marine vesrion. due in late this month! RIGHT???

AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER, ESTIMATED SHIP DATE: LATE AUGUST
Castle is excited to return to the boat market after a decade long hiatus. We are pleased to present the Hydra XLX2!
The Hydra XLX2 is based on our popular and powerful Mamba XLX2 ESC. We've removed the air cooled heatsink and added a watercooled heatsink. It is finished off with an aluminum top plate for a clean look. Attached to the top plate are two aluminum, water fittings for 1/8" tubing and uses standard 10-32 UNF threads; package includes optional .17" fittings.
CRYO-DRIVE™, Castle’s proprietary breakthrough technology integrates unique software and dedicated hardware to reduce heat and dramatically increase performance. Thousands of times per second, the XLX2 software minimizes the amount of time the electrical components spend generating heat. These software advancements work in parallel with an open housing design which enables increased directional airflow to cool critical components. With the combination of a new 50mm fan and forged elliptical fin heatsink, the XLX2 maximizes airflow throughout the system, taking thermal performance to a whole new level. The results are more power handling, cooler ESC temperatures and longer runtimes and for ultra-high performance.
NOTE: Due to the high power nature of the XLX2, you must use appropriately sized batteries and connectors. We recommend a minimum 150 amp connector for the Hydra XLX2; examples include Castle 6.5mm polarized, EC8 and QS8. DO NOT USE XT90, Traxxas, EC5/IC5 or any other connectors rated below 150 amps continuous. You can easily optimize the ESC for any running conditions. Create, save and download setup profiles through the Castle Link Programming Suite on your Windows™ PC, or wirelessly with the convenience of the new B-Link™ Bluetooth™ Adapter and Castle Link app for Android or iOS.
Additional tuning flexibility awaits you with on-the-fly adjustments from your transmitter via the Auxiliary wire. Simply connect the white signal wire to an open radio channel, and enable the feature in Castle Link by selecting what Auxiliary function you would like to use. Access programming parameters such as Torque Control, Max Brake or Max Throttle.

The 10 channel Futaba was 811.00 to the door... One of the boats powered with the APD may end iup with a beta flight capable flight card for self leveling options and low pass filtering on a single layer motor for lower motor THD and noise.
The APD inverter is capable of 40 kW!! Its 20S lipo....
It cost me $1200.00
Regards
Hubert

U can never have enuf options.....

Tell TS Davis and all the advanced boaters that actually know something about mathematics physics and electronics from IMPBA and NAMBA interested I'm here with my high pitched propellors, high current motors, and inverters for the electric boats. Here we will put theory to test.
Talk is cheap....and a castle inverter will run a Plettenburg tetras with no issue!

Hubert

Running a 180 MHz 32-Bit processor these will deliver maximum smoothness, unmatched linearity, with ultra-fast throttle response for unsurpassed flight control. With peak power ratings up to 30kWs, these ESCs will have no trouble powering your craft.
The APD developed (proprietary) firmware ensures unmatched low-throttle and starting characteristics. Ultra-smooth starting and ramp-up characteristics ensure your drive-train is safe. Features include PWM-frequency dithering to avoid PWM-commutation synchronisation, adaptive motor timing advance and proprietary developed Active Phase-Current De-magnetisation (APCD). APCD along with Synchronous rectification ensure maximum ESC efficiency is achieved.
Designed and manufactured in Australia using only the highest quality components, ensuring no sacrifice in reliability.
Aerospace grade ceramic capacitor bank for lowest possible ESR and maximum reliability, no more dried up electrolytic failures!
Multiple operation modes:

Anyway the laser kit for a U-31 Circus Circus 1990 159-A Master Hull Roster #9031 will be cut so i can start gathering running hardware for the boat.. The cooler the electronics the more delivery you will get. So dual water pickups is a start.. I usually go with virginia craftsmen fin but I think ill try RRC this time. I like the finish quite a bit.

Im starting out with a 1/8 in wire drive setup but I have the plans and procedure from Jimmy for the ball pin universal cutting tool that can withstand the torque. These can be turned, with this tool. in O-1 tool steel.

The wire is a very nice manufactured piece setup for a 1/4 inch strut with a stepped down to .187 for the prop bores I'm running. I also keep an assortment of K&S scratchbuilt 1/8th inch wire drive stock on hand. Now that i have the lathe turning the ferrules is no issue.
