Futaba 7px set up for boat
How can I set up the electric boat speed controller by Futaba 7PX?
I cannot make my boat run backward.
The boat does not run backward instead the brake is activated when I push back the trigger.

HI Blue,
Does the ESC have reverse? If it does you have to enable it in the ESC settings not the Tx. As long as you show reverse idication on the TX it is sending the signal.U have the esc set for brakes and not reverse. Do you have any photos of the boat? You only want about 25 % throttle on reverse. Is the trigger working in the direction you want it to? Does pulling the trigger move the boat forward?
Regards,
Hubert

Thank you Hubert for your reply
If I use another Tx and Rx (not a Futaba product) without any change of ESC, it works perfectly (good forward and good reverse)
I think I should change a set up in the Futaba 7PX, but I don't know how to do it.

I found something about setting reverse on page 145 of the manual. I can't give you exact intructions but here is what the manual says:
Reverse mode shift level
MC401,402CR/MC950CR/MC940,960CR :0%~100%
Same as Link software Reverse Mode Shift Level.
The reverse operation can be done with the throttle
trigger to be thrown from brake status to the neutral.
The value can set the amount of the brake in order
to switch to the reverse operation
There are screen shots in the manual that goes along with the above but, without having a radio in my hands, I can't really understand what they are trying to do

Dear Hydro Junkie
Thank you for your reply.
However, the instruction you have shown me is for MC( motor controller ) setting produced by Futaba.
On page 140 it is shown that the MC should be connected to the radio to change the setting.
Anyway, thank you for your time.

Sorry Blue, all I could find in the manual. Your best option at this point may be to just call or email them. Since you're in Seoul, here is the Futaba website homepage with ways to contact them on it:

Hi Blue
But for what? you never showed me the main screen so I could actually help. Thats why i asked. That wasn't a ditto of the other post but an erased post. I own a 10 px so certainly the hard manual which is a thk az BIBLE is accessible . I never considered it before trying to ascertain first where the Tx is currently set. Certainly the radio operates reverse.
This is not the main screen but an example of what a screenshot of a radio looks like.

It really isnt that difficult to see where the Futaba radio is set ...I'm sure factory support will ask the same basic question to help you or have you reset the entire system to default if you do not.
Tell Tony Coberly Hubert says hi.
Take care.
