hi guys,i'm new to elec. boats and this forum.i have a kyosho blue streak 800,modified the tranny to run hot moters.using an RC10T diff 52 teeth,a 22 pinion 48 pitch & a 14 T triple
motor.i geared up & down & found this set up to be the coolest.but my motor still runs very hot
& my run time is only 3 mins.using 3000 NIMS.boat does about 25 mph.stock prop, cant seem to find an up graded prop.
any suggestions? need help.
also waht kinds of motors do u guys run & run time?

Hi,
Three minutes runtime is too short for a boat that size, our Mono 2 (competition)boats run up to seven minutes (full throttle!) on 12 GP3300, a 9,6V 700 neodym motor and a Graupner 45K prop, direct drive, and do about 40 Kph (just timed them today).
If the motor is getting very hot, you're demagnetizing it into oblivion. Is it watercooled, can and brushes?
Like Steven suspects too, I presume, you're running a too big prop to get the 14 T motor in the right revvs, causing it to eat massive amounts of Amps and heat up excessively.
I'm no fan of gears, so I can't advise you on that.
Do you have a pic of your mods, and the original prop?
Greetings, Jan.
