Default "ac" vs "dc"

i had a weird idea is there any way i could run an ac leafblower motor on a boat and actually use the air pressure as thrust to make the boat move and maybe mold the tube into the bottom of the hull i dont no just curious call me crazy but i think it would be pretty fast the leaf blower i have says 200+ mph of air im not saying it will do 200 maybe more like 40 or something in that range but it has to have more thrust than a little gas engine right? another thing if its possible to do is how would you control the speed i told my dad about it and he said im crazy any suggestions[sm=drowning.gif]

Your dad is right...

What you suggest is basically an airboat with a ducted fan, build one of those and see how close you get to the 200Mph.

As a powerfull motor a brushless (AC!) motor with controller would be a possibillity.
With the weight in mind, I would go for a gasser though; lighter, longer runs and probably faster.

Regards, Jan.

Nice idea, youd probably go bang though !! assuming you found some AC, i.e. gernerator, the length of cable required to use the boat would seriously affect performance and AC hates water so one leek and your have permantly spiky hair !!!!

Nice thought though, how about a small chain saw engine instead, petrol power and powerfull !!!

I know your only playing but AC is a killer, trust me im an electrition !!

Apparently, AC can adversely affect spelling and punctuation too!

Sorry, couldn't resist...
