u gonna put a lip at the end? like this picture here look at the tip (no idea how to put a picture on so i'll giv u the link)
[link=http://www.bullockmarine.com/fountain/fountain_photos_gallery_fountain_graphics.html]Look at the tips of the hulls[/link] they gonna be pretty hard if oyu want to make the tips like that. also to make it look even more like a fountain hull you could shave off the line that goes down the center of the boat.

oh lol i know what a fountain looks like , i my parents own one !
and yes i have taking that center line into consideration , but have not taken it out for the reason , looking at my boat it has a cent rail down the middle of the deck , so i think that it acts like the center rail
and also , the lip on my blast is the piece that they fused the upper deck and hull together , and it was big , so know it is gone i have put fiberglass epoxy around it to hold it togther ! and it worked !
so it is comming out how i like it !
looks realy good and i now have to make a canopy cuz the original one is in davey jones locker !
il get pics in a bit !

Default RE: spot the diffrence

hey !
im running octura rudder and strut with a home made bracket , cuz of the deadrise angle !
lol i just came back from my cottage and it ran great ! also not havving the lip on either side , it make the water come up and have more a diffrent displacment ! and for a strange reason it carves the turn better!
but any way , i was running it in the lake pretty hard , came up and down a couple of swells ! and then all of a sudden STOP
the rudder worked , cuz i saw it move , and so did the motor , cuz when i fired it up you could see the boat rool cuz of the motor torque ! !
so i get in my canoe and find that there is no prop !
i look in the hull and i can see the flex shaft but it doesnt come out the end !
so its gone , to the bottom of the lake ,
i lost the prop half of the flex shaft !
oh well

Hey man, sorry to hear about your prop and prop shaft! I too lost my prop and prop shaft on saturday on my Kyosho Hurricane. I guess that means its time to upgrade

yep !
but if you alrady have a upgraded stuff , u need to buy a replacment
lucky i have a spare flexshat that is about 2 feet long , and my friend plays bass gutiar and he is getting me his old strigs on his gutiar , he says that there are .98 mm string , so i guess im in luck !
i also am thinking of putting a step in the hull ! about 5 or 6 inches from the back and .5 inches deep !
what do you think , i have found the planing surface and it is at the 5 or 6 inch mark , so i can get it to plane a little higher ! with more speed
and then i will drop in a novak ss5800 cuz they come preasemable and there eazy !
so it sould be pretty cool

I found a couple extra flex shafts laying around in my tool box. I've just got to decide which one to put in. Oh well, another project to get up and running again.

Yep, that's it. Its not by far the fastest thing out there, but until the other day it was my most reliable boat I have. Whenever my Super Hawaii died, I would go rescue it with my Hurricane. lol.

oh cool
speed isnt all wayse the case , but most time it is !
that is where the step comes in the hull , hope fully it will incrase the speed and planing time
what do ya think

I'm not sure. If the Triton is still in production, and is the same as the Hurricane, then maybe I can just replace the stock prop shaft. Here's some pics as of 1 minute ago. How hard/practical would it be to convert this thing to like a 700BB Turbo motor?

the triton is the same hull !
and for a 700 serise motor would have a lot of juice to move it
but take out the sterable out drive

VDub99AML ,
From the looks of it, it shouldn't be that difficult to convert from one motor(s) to a 700BB. Getting the deck off would certainly make it easier, but shouldn't be absolutely necessary. While it's certainly possible, couldn't say how much benefit you'd see.

Yeah, I don't know if I want to do it or not. I have my SH setup with a 700, and I'm still working out all the bugs to get it going.
For right now I think I'll play cheap and get it back up and running with a somewhat stock setup. This past weekend, I did an experiment on this boat and hooked up 2 3300mA batteries in series to see if the Lemans motors could handle it-nope.lol
So, I scrapped up the 2 21T motors that are in it now. It seemed slower than it was with the Lemans motors. Does anyone know if in fact the 21T's are slower?

i have no idea , but i would say the 700 would be awesome , sure the hull is big enof to hold the 2 packs , and with a new drive line , u could make that boat a rocket !
Just make a 700 motor mount out of a piesce of aluminim and use a drill press !
its realy eazy
then get a flex shaft and runnning hardware , but be sure to make the prop depth a little lower , cuz of the speed it will come out of the water more and u will lose momentun

Good heads up on the prop height-- didn't think of that. I'll have to check and see if my LHS has a 700 motor in stock-- prolly not.

The two 3300 mA batteries, what voltage were they? The capacity of the battery (3300 mA) is comparable to the size of a gas tank, not what's in it. If the motors weren't rated for the combined voltage of the two packs, no wonder they didn't like it.
