Default New Micro Hydro Brushless RTR

I just preordered one of these little hydros and wanted to share.

http://www.minicatracingusa.com/default.htm

It is about 15" long and goes 30 to 40mph and is RTR just add your RX and battery.

Here is the video on an 8 cell NiMh pack

http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...7&q=micro+hydro

Here is the video on a 3S 1500 Lipo pack.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...8&q=micro+hydro

I should have the boat with in a week so whatever post gets the most view until then will be the thread that I log / post to after I get / try it out.

I pre ordered mine from http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/MainPage.htm just click on the RTR boat section and you will see it.

Time will tell if it was worth the $299.00 I sure hope so!

Thanks for the info. I'll start posting to the forum that gets the most hits. Of course, I'll only start posting when I have one on the way too. Need out of the box speeds, so get the GPS ready. If it'll fit.

Also check Offshoreelectrics.

Jfruge,
Since you'll have both boats in your fleet, please give us some insight on side-to-side runs if possible (SV27 vice MicroH).

The SV27 may be a better deal on what you get for your cash but for myself being how I just picked up a 2nd SV27 I dont really need another one. However this will be my first micro and I look forward to trying it out!

This should not be much trouble as My buddy and I both have SV27's and we both ordered this micro hydro as well.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks John,
I want to add an Oval Master along with one of these Micros. Are you looking to race the MH (microhydro) or just sporting, and if racing, are you going to try a larger cell setup?
I know, you don't have it yet, but the possibilities!

One thing I give Grim credit for was the SV. It definitely sparked a rookie to the boating world and now I'm getting ready to go for more boats.

eyekandy - That is exactly what I thought...looks just like the hydromite which I do have the plans for. I was planning on building one this winter but I figured I'd check to see if there are any mini hydros in glass. It looks like there are 2 and both are molded from the Hydromite. Here's a pic of the other one. Good price but I'm not big on splashed hulls...just not fair to the designer especially since the plans are free...just another somebody making money off of someone elses design.[:@]

you can tape it to the top of the hull with double sided tape. I have done that before with my Gecko.

I think the plan is to try to race them. Well at least for my buddy chonburi and I driving them side by side @ our local pond to see who can tune them better.
We both have them on order (Yellow for me) (White for him) and we both have the SV27's so I guess we will be look to so FE races @ some point but the are many hours away at best.

I know have a data logger and Plan some crazy Lipo setups on one of the SV27's I will give it a go this sunday.

I Just ordered one of the red ones Steven has coming in any day now. He said he only had 2 so I was guessing a white and a red.

From what I have seen, he is the only dealer so we will be the first few to try these things. I hope it holds up well to 3 cell lipoly as that is what I intend to use in mine because I have them for my helis already.
That was a big selling point to me as batteries can get pretty expensive if you have to keep getting all different kinds evey time you get a new toy.

Heliman, what size 3S lipo are you planning on using. I beleave were going to try some 3S 2100 TP PL packs becasue we have them.
I beleave that Steve has been keeping track of the preorders and updating his website. I ordered a Yellow and chonburi ordered a White to match our current SV27 fleet. From what we were told both should make the first shipment.

Waiting for a email from Steve that it shipped,

I have some 3S 2100 Apex, 2000 TP, 1300 TP, 1500 Max Amps.

I also have some 8 cell 2/3A 1100 nimh packs I use in my Stryker plane if I need to use them.

I will try them all and see what works best.
I hope to test it soon after I receive it if it warms up a little around here.

I'm not sure what the amp draw will be on the boat, but my apex cells are a little puffed already (which seems to be the norm with them) and I sure don't want any flash fires in that little hull. Can you say Poooffff[X(]

I should have them today or Monday. I should have your color choices for both of you. They will ship out as soon as they come in.

I beleave we all paid the same price. A price that we think is fair... That would be why we ordered it. If you have issues with the price please start your own thread. [X(]
