Default Aftermath of todays run

Took out the mini mogli today. first run since october I think. And ran the iceberg again. went pretty good at first, exept for a coupler that came loose and a motor spinning backwards had to drive home and unmount the motor cuz I didnt have any tools with me[:''(]

but here are some pics.
bad news of today is that me and my friend crashed. his boat is the red one in the pics, an NQD high wind with a supervee motor and esc on 14 cells. think he was a bit lucky cuz my boat cracked in the seam between hull and deck, prop got f***ed and cable unwound itself:/ but atleast all the electronics are fine and the boats didnt sink.
had some funny radio glithes too, when our rudders tangled up my radio went mad and gave full throttle att some times and I couldnt do anything. So DONT TANGLE UP YOUR RUDDERS!!

well. the damge isnt that bad after all. just some epoxy and fiberglass on the inside where the hull split and a new cable and prop.

sure. just have to take the other camera with me. havnt changed the prop, the motor got really hot on this run but it could have been cuz I had to use it as an airboat when it flipped

I think the prop hit some of quists hardware but you cant really see any damage on his boat:/

Judging by the picture, the seam isn't reinforced with glasscloth, just the epoxy 'putty'...

Thats sloppy work!

If you can reach it, remove as much of the epoxy and use 24h epoxy and glasscloth to repair the seam from the inside.
Taping off the outside will prevent the epoxy seeping though, spoiling the looks.

Use as less epoxy as possible to keep the boat light and avoid letting the excess resin cure in the seam, you've seen what happens with thick blobs of epoxy in a crash.

Good luck on the repairs!

Regards, Jan.

Im not stupid...offcourse it wasnt a good idea to crash into eachother. it was an accident, cant really remember why he hit me but i think I made a turn that was pretty stupid and ended up in front of him. and the mogli can turn with a radius of 0.5-1 meters at almost full speed, the other boat cant so he didnt have a chance to turn before he hit me. but he let off the throttle attleast:P..guess he hit the weakest spot of the hull.

and if you refering to the first pic, that one was just to get a series of good shot with the new camera:P..we didnt race that close

Hey joccee, nice to see you in action.

Me and my friend are allso working on our (new) mogli's, both crashed pretty bad last year,
we were racing after eachother and then he suddenly turned and i hit his boat in the side with full speed
and the hull cracked open, it happens

Here is my old thread if you remember.

I didn't do that.
It was done to me due to poor conditions out on a race course.
It was not a radio glitch, it was just bad driving for the other person. that is something you risk when you race boats. but when i am sport boating. i have no need to get so close.

You make an awful lot of unnecessary negative comments, especially when you drive a Cadillac. I'm sure I'm not the only person around here and other places that bites their tongue every time you flame someone. You should go use that car and get a girl and maybe get some pent up anger out......the old fashion way.

So you decided to put the boat on the lake in poor conditons. tisk tisk. I remember your post afterwards you weren't even upset about it. You know as well as the rest of us that $H!t happens. Really no point in a critical response to it. I think if you sport run by yourself it's so fun to get on the lake with someone else but you learn in the first few seconds how fast these boats will close on each other. Everything is a learning experience.

so when you go out and run with a friend you set a strict distance barrier so that the boats won't come into contact with each other. imean i understand that some of these boats are wicked fast and can come close to each other real fast but me and two other guys have mini rio's and every time we go out and run we touch or crash or get tangled up. that's boating (unless you're running scale fishing and tug boats)

have you ever seen a modded boat run in person if my minicat hit you broad side at full speed the rudder would pretty much cut a mini rio in half your talking any where from 30-40mph so when 2 or more boats are on the lake yes we set a course and maintain direction and lanes
