Russ there seems to be a few guys on different boards that don't believe that Brian went 65mph with the stock boat and a different prop. You can't blame them, most don't know Brian and can't understand what prop tweaking will do.
Do you know what prop he used?

I will have to double check but I believe it was a 2045 or 2047.

Mike don't take it personally, lots of haters in this world.

Ya, no kidding on the comment. And that apparently was the president.

Yes 2047. Which is a heavily cupped 47mm prop. Brian also had done tons of work to the prop so it is by no means stock. At this size it is a pure SAW setup. Only a few passes and that is it.

looks like a nice boat but I can't imagine why they put those fakey little mirrors and exhaust pipes on it. That will be the first thing to break. Makes it look a little like a radio shack toy. But at the reported speeds I'm sure nobody will care!
Is your boats any better?????[X(] Would like to see yours!!![:'(][:@] I'd like the looks of the mirrors and headers!!!!!! Make it look more true looking!!! Hay Grim!!!! where can I get a line on those mirrors??? Need some for my boats!!!!

Good point Ray and I can see this possibly, but then people are not really track9ng where and how this took place.

First, it was a NAMBA sanctioned event.
The CD was the Vice President of NAMBA and also the Records Chairman.
There were at least 10 other FE racers there, many of them also fairly well known.

So this was not done in the dark of night on some backwater pond with no witnesses. This was done in an official event under the watchful eye of the NAMBA VP/Records Chair and several other FE boat racers.

And in case people are not familiar with Brian they should go to the NAMBA website and download the latest newsletter. Look at the article about the NAMBA FE NATS. About 15 records were set and I think Brian set 13 of them!!!

(BTW Ray, I know this is NOT news to you).

Oh, and the mirrors are FAKE!! I tried to see myself in them and could not. You'd think for $330 you'd at least get REAL mirrors!! Power would be nice too, but I suppose that is too much to ask for.

Love the look of the UL-1.

I just brought a SuperVee have been wanting one for years.

I would buy a UL-1, but with the way we get ripped off over here in the LHS for Aquacraft boats, and now our poor dollar it would cost $690 AUD for one from Tower.

I am checking on this now, however, everybody like to have this but then when done, nobody buys. Not feasible to do when only a couple are sold a year......most find out by the time you get the hull, rig and equip it, it is cheaper to just buy an entire rtr hull.....

Will see.....

Not if some of us convert to nitro!!! Plus if that boat is that fast you'll be seeing accidents with them.Like smashed hulls!![X(][] Thats why you should have hulls.. just in case![>:]

I wonder how this boat will run out of the box with Lipo's in it?
I am so glad that I did not buy a SV.
this is going to be my fast boat for the pond.

It should be able to get over 40mph with decent LiPo's. Maybe with a prop change and some tweaking upwards of high 40's is possible.

I bought a Mini Rio and wanted to do a brushless conversion. But its a $100 hull in my eyes as all the electronics except servo is not needed...

Nobody said the hulls need to come in pretty boxes... Heck ship em out in bags. but replacement hulls would be nice.

Sailr, you need to review the site rules again:

Looks awesome. How is the lid held on? Is it easy to seal up? And one last question and I am sure I will be flamed for this but, do I HAVE to use lipo batteries? Would it be an absolute turd with the ni batteries and/or start them on fire? Going lipo raises the price several hundred dollars for me.

Going LiPo and dumping the Nixx will save you hundreds of dollars in the long run. If you do use them you will probably be limited in run time due to excessive heat in the Nixx packs.
