Cool! How does she run?

A couple of other questions...

What motor mount did you use?
What batteries and prop?

Ok, so I have a new Miss Vegas hull (completely stripped, never used, no hardware).

The question is, is it worth it to try and build the Vegas with a brushless setup rather than just buying a UL-1 Superior? Keep in mind, I'd need to buy not only a motor and ESC, but also the hardware.

It seems like the Vegas hull may be quite a bit heavier to push around than the UL-1.

Buy a UL-1 if youve got the balls to prepare your self to possibly open a box with a damaged UL-1 in the box.
Heard way to many horror stories about DOA's and hulls that are split.
Also have heard way to many horror stories about Aquacraft and Tower Hobbies putting up a fuss as far as replacements/refunds go.

Well, that's the thing. I had problems with my SV27 (that were corrected for free by Tower Hobbies) but ever since, I've seemed to have better luck starting with an empty Aquacraft hull and putting my own guts into them. My brushless TopSpeed2 and my brushless Hammer EP projects have both turned out really nice.

I also like the look of the Miss Vegas more than the UL-1 Superior, but I don't want to spend big $$$ on a huge motor and 6S setup to make it as fast as a UL-1.

Hey Sinister, what type of hardware do you have on your setup here?

After reading this I read a few forum posts and well, let's just say...a brushless Miss Vegas it is!

Sinister, do you recommend the UL-1 motor/ESC combo, or if you were to start over, would you recommend a different setup (an 8xl or maybe one of the new 580 size Feigao motors like the 7L and a bigger prop)?

I know you hit 46.5mph which is flying, but how were the motor, esc and battery temps after the run - did the electrics seem stressed pushing the bigger hull around?

Also, if anyone knows where I can get a decal sheet from the Proboat Miss Bud, that would be great. The hull is red, and the Miss Bud decals would work pretty well on it.

Temps fine, that props kinnda small, I ran the 45-46mph on a 2-blade Grim 38/55...
the Ul-1 always had this bounce in the straight wide open, and it was because that sloppy turn
fin setup. If I was to build another since Im still new to this...ummm... probably the same setup
as the VacuPickles there building with hydra120 and neu 1509 with 4s2p. Then a resonable 52mph an up
i suppose...or Genetticos setup was awsome. Didnt his run hot??

This is the Ul-1 with the same setup...watch and listen how it bounces...i worked with the strut..and the turn fin ..the turn fin causes this problem.
