I would like to know what your boat weighs with the baterries in it as it would sit in the water running. So if other users could weigh theirs and let me know that would be great.
Thanks,

RE: Venomâ„¢ King of Shaves C1 34
well Ive run the boat about 3 more times now after fixing a flex cable that broke. the props spin pretty freely when you turn them by hand. so I know there is no issue with the drive line binding up. I have a little gap between the drive dog and the bearing on the strut to allow for the cable to tighten a bit under load. my lipos are new hyperion GX EX 3S 45C 5000mAh but i still cant get much for good run times. im talking 3 mins tops at full throttle about 85% of that time doing straight runs. and throttle down to slow down and turn around. and after 5 mins of over all runtime the boat is slow and I bring it in to make sure i dont run the packs down to far. I mean come on *** 5 mins on a FE boat with 5000mAh high dollar lipos? Als o noticed if I wait a few moment s and let the boat sit out in the water then start moving again and hammer the throttle I can hear the motors spin up to higher rpm for just a second then drop back down. any clues on that?

my first thought it sounds like your packs are not doing so good?
I have Hyperions for one of my 3D planes and I get better performance out of my Turningy packs, like 15% more power and my flights are longer???
but your runtimes are strange.. these are 380 motors and I would thing 8-10min are possible without any issues at all

Here is a few pics of mine. I have the feigao 380-9xl's with turnigy 120A esc's on 4S lipo.....The last pic is a new configuration with the lipos in the sponsons to move the center of gravity forward for some high speed runs. Fastest so far is 57.7mph on gps.

I was thinking about getting these
fei-380-xL
Feigao 380xl ''Extra Long''

Word to the wise dont buy the same boat I bought. I have found out what my issues are in the short runtimes.
The esc's are 70amp ones. and are labled as being 2-6 cell 70 amp marine esc's. But the truth is they are mislabled. They are 4-8cell 70 amp esc's. I have found this out from studying the programming menu sheet it came with and finding another programming sheet of the same esc online. and accroding to the tone and beeps its reading back to me the lowest setting is in fact not a 2 cell lipo with 8v cut off but its a 4s lipo with 12v cut off. so when my 3 cell packs are fully charged and i run the boat for about 3 mins the voltage cut off is reaching its mark are 12v. thinking im running 4s packs. this explains why my packs are at 12v when i put them back on the charger after running. so now i will have to sell more of my rc stuff to fund new esc's.
I was certain it was nothing to do with my lipos being bad because they are hyperion packs that were not cheap. I spent about $250+ bucks to have good packs. Ive heard nothing but good things about hyperion packs. Plus my charger seems pretty good about giving me details about my batteries.

reset the esc... your packs are lower than 12v when running the boat!
under a load your packs are possible in the low 11v range and that would shut off the esc for good
the esc can run on 2s you just need to reset it to take 3s or shut the lvc off

RE: Venomâ„¢ King of Shaves C1 34
get a clue? thats a little harsh now isnt it?
Ive been saying there is a menu missing in the programming sequence of the esc. now thats pretty odd a whole menu selection is missing. its supposed to be a 2-6 cell esc and i cant even select the 2s option it completely skips that part in the menu. im telling you that this esc isnt what its supposed to be and the lowest selection on it is for running 4S packs. and when your running 3S packs with a esc that thinks they are 4S packs what do you think the LVC is going to be? 12v cut off.
im not mad at you but i wish people would just listen sometimes instead of assume because that makes an ass-u-me of both of us right?

Take a breath man! [:-]
all will be good...
try and disable the lvc
hard to hear when you are all over the web saying what something won't do, it gets a litte annoying
I would take the boat you bought over venom any day of the week

I know - should have "jerryrigged" the stock boat with a collar on the flex cable. However, this wasmy first RC boat and unfortunately the manual did not contain a section on "jerryrigging" or "degreasing" (as Chris - VENOM RACING R&D - RCGroups Forumsuggested) to keep from loosing hardware. Nor was there any information on the merits of upgrading to more reliable couplers / collets. Consideringthe fact that flex cables, drive dogs, drive tubes are as scarce as "hens teeth", a significant number of newbie KoS owners have probably encountered the same problem.
A minor detail vis a vis qualitycontrol. Both V3RT radios I received had an annoying diagonal scratch across the LCD screen. Buyer Beware. Sharp looking boat though.
If you are looking to buy this producttrip on over to the KoS thread in the RCGroups Forum so that you can make a more informed decision than I did.

RE: Venomâ„¢ King of Shaves C1 34
yeah it was pretty fun.
I need to get a gps reading so that I can compare the speed now vs when i get the new parts I have on order installed and run it.
