HELP! Can anyone Identify this Boat
I have recently acquired this electric boat from a car boot, and would love to do it up. Any idea what it is or who made it? Why does it have 3 7.2v batteries wired in series for the motor? Can I upgrade the ESC knowing that it must take 3 batteries as input? Do 3 batteries in series = 21.6v or is it still 7.2v with greater amperage? The motor and electrice run fine. How do I go about repairing a split down one side of approx 3" it is made of plastic?

RE: HELP! Can anyone Identify this Boat
Somehow I think the batteries are in parallel, as the motor is on the small side to be fed 21V... through a mechanical ESC, from what I can see.
So it is probably powered at 7.2V, with higher current. In series you add the voltages for the same current, parallel you add the amperage at the same voltage (which is the case here).
Anyway, looks like a decent boat to upgrade a bit with a new motor (brushless), a real ESC and some lipos... or you can keep the Nimh for longer runtimes. Nice find!
