hello newbee here
well looking for a elect rtr boat,im new to this hobby.what im askn is whats the best boat to get i wanna spend between 300 to 500 thanx
|
RE: hello newbee here
honestly for that money you may want to look at the traxxas titan. there are plenty of people on both sides of the "its a pop bottle" boat but it seems fairly nice. you could always go with a super vee 27 they are great boats too
i noticed your in ohio, where abouts? |
RE: hello newbee here
I think the traxxas titan (ore the spartan as the new name seems to be) ore ProBoat Miss Geico Brushless RTR
will be the boat's I will look at next spring. Both seems like great machines. |

I have the nitro version....if the boat starts tohop around...adjust the trim tabs immediately. The stock plastic prop wont hold up undercontant jumping. Mine broke in two places. Also, consider the metal props as well.

RE: hello newbee here
Very true...I cant do that in my boat. The versitality of electric....once again. If I ever do get into FE....that is the boat I will get. The SV seems to be the standard. My thing is support....I have to get a really good gharger and multiple sets of batts. to keep the action going.

RE: hello newbee here
You right again.....I flattened them out the other day....the boat ran faster....but it started jumping a little......I'm gone try that...thanks srt!

RE: hello newbee here
Yea....I am mainly a nitro guy...however...I do have a Traxxas Blast....and I am training my dad on a Rio EP. I hang out in thenitro and airboat forum.....and lurk around here althoughI don't do a lot of posting here because I don't have a lot of experience with electric boats....and none at all with FE.

I love nitro trucks because of the sound and smell :D and I dig the fact you can keep on running with my Losi 8T, just fill it up and keep going I went through a gallon of 30% in one week with my Losi and it was a blast! The SV27R is a cool boat to get started with and very easy to run.. like your nitro but no fuels Aquacraft is coming out sometime soon with a new Cat, that should be amazing :D |
RE: hello newbee here
Yea my LHS has one. With all of the upgrades I did to my nitro version, modding it will be a breeze. Can you run at full blast the entire run with an SV FE?

RE: hello newbee here
That is fine.....I get 8 with mine. I heard that it can burn up the ESC.....I guess this aint totally true?

RE: hello newbee here
ok thanx.i wanna upgrade my bat, everything is stock sept grim racer prop.im new to elect boats, always owned nitro car an this is my first boat. if i upgrade my bat,do i need to change anything else?
|
RE: hello newbee here
I was sort of indifferent to electrics until a running buddy of mine got a used sv, stuck a 2300kv motor in it and a bigger esc, ONce we figured out the right prop and got things adjusted that boat rips. LOL I have gutted an older nitro hull and am doing a 4s mono! He changed my attitude with the SV. Good boat!

A good prop is always good.. I like using a CF45 and CF48 prop I've also heard a S230 and S235 work amazing on this boat And good lipos with a C rating of 30c and higher will give the boat more punch and speed with the bigger props And always check your temps when you use a bigger prop to make sure things are running in the safe zone And punch it! |
