newbe fe build
Hi, i'm new to fe boats & would like to try to put one together. Seeing all the cool fe boats on here is driving me crazy, I WANT ONE, but i would need some help. So i'm asking if you guys on here could steer me in the right direction before i set myself up for failure or make stupid mistakes. As of now i have a 36/56 aquacraft motor out of an sv27 (1800kv i think) 100amp esc, lower unit i got off ebay & i ordered a new top speed3 tunnel hull, so here is where the questions come in. Can i run one battery or do i need to run 2? (would it be worth the weight savings?) any prop suggestions? battery suggestions? That should get me started for now i think, any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated & i thank you so kindly in advance. Daren

RE: newbe fe build
Doesn't have to be 2 batteries. You just need 4s voltage wise. You can use (2) 2s batteries in series or (1) 4s battery either is fine. Look for some 4500mah - 5000mah and 30c or higher. Check hobbyking.com for some Turnigy packs or hobbypartz.com. As your first boat you picked a difficult hull style to setup. Tunnels are very sensitive to setup and more difficult to drive. Do you have the blue or gold sv motor? It's a nice size hull, with that motor look around a grim 42x55, 40x52/3, octura x440, x442, x640 & x642. Im not sure if the hull is going to like more pitch less diameter or more diameter less pitch. A prather 215 or 220 might not be bad either. It's gonna be trail and error bud, like I said tunnels are picky.

RE: newbe fe build
I had a top speed2 with an osmax nytro before & i think i had it set up ok but all the setup was pretty much figured out in the insructions for me. I was thinking of placing the battery where the fuel tank is to start & go from there but time will tell. I think i will try 1 battery to start & by some props. Thank you for your help. blue sv motor
