More mAh.... harm or help?

I have a Joysway Offshore Lite Warrior boat, which came with a 7.2 v 1100 mAh NiMH battery. I purchased a 1/10 truck, which comes with a 7.2v 3800 mAh NiMH battery. I'm going to run the truck mostly with lipos and was wondering if I can use the new NiMH battery with my boat. I understand that I shouldn't use a battery with higher voltage, but would using a battery with higher mAH hurt anything? If not, would it translate into more power or longer run times for the boat?

Go ahead and use it. No harm will be done and you get longer run times.

More harm than good! Weight of nimH is a lot heavier than lipos. Sure longer runtimes will occur but your self righting won't work due to extra weight. That's why the 1100 lipos. Read up on the threads for the boat. Try rc groups-offshore-rc universe forums.

Ah yes, good point. I was thinking mechanically and electrically not functionality.

I wonder if motor and esc of boat would last with the length of runtime of the 7.2-3800 nimH which would be very long if you run till lipo almost dumps. Have a good day!

Great info.  I hadn't thought about.the weight.  I actually haven't received the car yet so haven't seen the battery.  As long as it won't burn up the motor or anything, I guess there is no harm in trying it.

Boat was the subject.

Correct. I'm only getting the battery becomes it comes with the car. I'll be using lipo for the car so don't really need the NiMH battery. Therefore, I was hoping I could use with the boat because it has a much higher mAh.
</br>Also, I couldn't find "rc groups-offshore-rc universe forum". I looked on this site and did a Google search... couldn't find anything. Do you have a link?

Switch to lipos - I replaced NiMH in my boat. It was 1500 mah. Lipo weighs just a little more and is 4500 mah. Boat ran fine but a lot longer. Lipos are cheaper, last longer and with new chargers are very safe. I now use nothing but lipos in my p[8D]lanes and boats.
