genesis full throttle help
i put a new motor in the boat and its way faster but when i fully open it up it wants to turn to the right, i can do high speeds but not full throttle with out correcting it as i go, any ideas? am i experiencing prop walk and if so what can i do to correct this i have a leopard 3674 2000kv and prop is m445

Prop walk. Simple answer - use the rudder trim on the transmitter to dial in some left rudder until the boat runs straight.

so what if i want to run slower then the boat will turn left all the time i would like it fix the right way way so fast or slow it goes straight

Well, that is an old problem for genesis. The boat is too narrow and once you put more power (torque or bigger prop) it will turn right.
It is happening above a certain speed (~50mph) and you can not do much to solve it. Some people say that offsetting the rudder to the right will help. It didn't help in my case but you can try. Another solution is to use small prop (`38 to 40mm) and increase revs to compensate, so more KV on the motor. The best (and expensive) solution is actually to go dual drive with counter-rotating props. That will solve your problem. Even then, keep in mind that the Genesis will be very fast but it will corner awfull (for the same original reason, too narrow). I hope other users will chime in with other solution, that is my experience. Regards |
thanks john. its funny though i see videos of other genesis and they dont seem to have that problem from what i can tell. well ill wait and see what others have to say before i do anything but thanks for all the help
