How would You set this boat up??

Hi all, I am new to boating, been flying plans mostly all my life (65years worth) I am curious to hear what recommendations you may have in setting this boat up. It is a OLD Aeromarine Laminates 59" Catamaran I am looking for Motors, ESU,and Batteries that I could get this in the water and have some fun.

We have to know several things before we can help you.

- what is your budget?
- what speeds do you want to see (realistically)?
- what run times are you looking for? Remember that the faster you go the shorter the run time will be.
- what kind of water do you run on? Pond/lake size, choppy or flat?
- are you racing or fun running?

What’s the gap between the stringers and what size are the shafts?

Thanks for the response, I do not want to spend thousands but I understand their is cost's, as far as speed goes I am not racing anyone but I want it to be decent, I live in Florida my back yard is a very calm pond,it is a big boat so I do not know what to expect

Thanks Pat

In my opinion, if you want to keep it cheap...er, then I suggest two 40mm motors. Leopard or SSS would be a good choice. The TP Power are very nice but expensive. The catamarans don’t have much drag so that helps depending on weight which will obviously increase as you add parts. Lower kv motors on more power would be best. The problem is that lower KV motors would require higher amp ESCs with larger batteries and that makes the price jump substantially. If you can get away with 2-4082 or 4092 motors 1600 to 1800kv that can run on 2-180a Seaking ESCs you could use 4-3s or 2-6s lipos to run it. It should be very fast with that setup and should be less than $400 plus batteries, mounts, servo etc.
