Stering Servo
I have an AJ with a 700BB motor running 16 cells, for some
reason the boat always seems to want to pull to the right, when I adjust the steering it will go straight, but, I have a hard time turning right, when it comes to left turn, it turns way to quick sometimes I even spin out. Is there a fix for that???? If I was to buy a new steering servo and replace the stock one, would thar help?????????? Thanks, |
RE: Stering Servo
ok this is what u need to do
first: take out the servo unless you can acess the servo horn without taking the servo out Second: take off the servo horn third: turn on the boat NOT THE RADIO fourth: the servo should go to its original setting (make sure all radio setting are set to the way it first was) fifth: put the servo horm back on with the rudder straight or however you want it sixth: take the boat out and test it and if it doesnt work try it agian this is usually what is wrong |
RE: Stering Servo
In addition to tbbucs elaborate answer; running on 16 cells also gives you a lot of propwalk, the rear of the boat will want to wander to the left, making the boat veer off to the right.
If for some reason your servo rod hasn't been hooked up properly, you'll have a hard time correcting this and, as you've noticed, turning left can be a bit of a surprise... Regards, Jan. |
RE: Stering Servo
The same thing happens to my AJ except I'm only running 12 cells.

RE: Stering Servo
You might consider mounting a turning fin, this also counteracts propwalk.
