Trashed ESC, Need replacement?

Ran my Villan EX with 12T big block motors, Deans connectors and GP4300's. I installed a Novak Super Duty XR, water cooled it and wired the motors like they suggested, in parallel. It ran for several minutes so fast that it would chine walk, so ran it at 3/4 speed. Within a few minutes it started glitching and brought it in, needless to say it was so hot that it discolored the cooling fins and melted some of the plastic. [&o] Now believe it is fried and just cannot handle the amps.

Need a high amp esc that will handle the loads, Any Suggestions?

Thanks.

thats not going to work
you are runing 12 cells rite ? and twin motor
well that esc is only rated to 12 volts and urs is 14.4 volts
umm i would just buy 2 esc's that can run the one motor and hook it up parellel to the reciver with a y harnes and make it go that way !
that is what i would do

I would prefer to run with one ESC and looking at the loads that some of the higher end units can stand, I believe I am looking for something that can handle 80+ amps, correct?

Even watercooled, an ESC should not be run for "several minutes" at 3/4 throttle, this causes a tremendous heat build-up, as you have noticed...

Take a look at the ESC at the Offshore site ( www.offshoreelectrics.com ).

I don't think so: "this" will go up in smoke aswell, it's a car ESC suitable for moderate boat use, not a hot twin set-up.

Not really difficult to find the right 'size' ESC. Just do a stall test on your motors and get an ESC that handles a bit more than what they draw. Which one? Beats me, don't know what your motors draw.
