FAST TUNNELS??
 

looking for a 400 size electric tunnel, in or outboard and prefer glas but ABS is ok for now, just need something to run B/L motors in thatll go fast.>>>>>>>>>any suggestions?

I don't know anything about a 400 size outboard But check this out. you could run it direct drive with a mock outboard.

wow thanx for the kool boat site, Im starting to figure out 400 isnt that popular and 480 is, but I am getting some real good speeds with my old budlight tunnel,humm lots to think about

just curious, why not a bigger motor? You can setup a 700 or brushless for a 24" tunnel and it would run like hell.
As for the Budlight Tunnel, is it the MRP? Cause if it is, it should be running a 550 if it's stock. If that's what it is you could upgrade that OB unit and run a brushless set in it.

yes it is a circa 1980s MRP budlight and came with a 550 can motor which I tried at 1st then went to a hot 400 size B/L on a 3s lipo with much better results!! which reminds me>>>>>>how many boat guys run lipos and how many run nimas?? I get the idea many are using nimas... but why when lipos are smaller and have just as much power

Some of the micro guys use them but I'm not sure why they don't use them in bigger boats. That boat is kinda big for a 400. You may want to look into a 540s brushless motor. It'll bolt right in and will be alot faster then the 400. Then you put the 400 in one of those kneel down hydros and that thing would be ballistic.

dont know if the buds to long or not but do know it wants to torque outta the water when I gun it on the straight away, so a BL 550 would be crazier [X(]still alotta research to do

I was runnin a 700 on the same size hull and it was crazy fast, I know there are a few guys who run that size hull with xl brushless set. So I know it could handle a s brushless
