Wave jumping problem
Hello,
i have a turbo vee III that is stock and i was jumping some small waves made by a paddle boat(rocking it back and forth). when the boat lands the prop just spins and i have to let of the throttle a ton to get it on plane again. Is there a way to fix this? the prop is under the boat not behind it. We have a mastercraft wakeboaring boat and i like jumping the wake and stuff but it is hard to get the boat back up to speed by just holding the throttle, jw if anyone knows a solution to this. thanks mike oh yeah, could i change the position of the batteries to help? |
RE: Wave jumping problem
its called cavatation. there is no way to fix the problem unless maybe if you convert it to surface drive. But that hull might not like surface drive. What is happening is when your boat jumps some air gets in the spinning prop and causes cavatation and when you let off the throttle the air goes up and then you hit the throttle again and the prop catches water.

RE: Wave jumping problem
Try letting off the throttle as you begin the jump and when your boat hits the water jump back on the throttle ½ a second later.
