Hammer: Surface Drive..

What do you guys think will happen?
I converted my hammer ep into a surface drive, with the hardware from an aquajet.
Its got a 600 multiplex, 2-7cells. How do you think the hammer will run with a surface drive?

I'm sorry Taylor, but I still disagree with you on this one. There was a guy that had a whole thread on this subject and it was a successful conversion. The bad thing is that the thread got deleted with a RCU System upgrade, like one of my threads did.

Or someone help me find a real cheap hammer hull and I will do it. I have a brushless motor and a brushless esc just itching for a new project, and this is one I have been wanting to do for a while:D

lets re think that. . the sun storm and the fishing boats. . either of them didn't handle that well. so you building one would help my argument :D:);)
LOL

haha, actually the profisherman did handle pretty good, all I needed to do is to shift some more weight to the back. other than that it actually handled pretty good. Check it out verado

Very nice.

So far i have everything ready to go, everythings mounted. All i need to do is wait for my battery for the esc to come in and patch a hole on the bottom and shes ready for a test run.

Ill get some pics up later tonight.

Yep, she ran pretty good and yes she needed some tweaking that I did not take the time to do. All it really needed was some turn fins and to move the weight back a bit more.

for sure. i think it would have been a great running boat if you had a adjustable drive.

I agree with that as well. I wish I had someone near me to help me learn about adjustable drives. I am not good with sizing up flex cables and stuffing tubes and all that stuff. Yeh I know thats what RCU is for, but for some of us, it all sounds like chinese till we actually see it done. ;)

RE: Hammer: Surface Drive..

My sunstorm worked well when I converted it to surface drive the main thing that affected performance is prop choice.
I have been thru 6 different props and 4 of them wont evan move the boat faster than about 5mph. (cavitate real bad)
Yet 2 of them work very well and get the boat up to 30mph.

Heres the thread

Hello.
I made my own a while ago with the use of a FDM tranny. it worked out rather good. I used the original front plate where you mount the motor and then made a large plate that would hold both motors. I then made it so that they will adjust on the original track for the one motor that was supposed to be mounted on.
Make any sence? If not i will get a pictures.

Thanks Taylor,
Verado, I just picked up a Nitro Fiberglass Hammer hull for $50.00 shipped. It should be here in a couple of days. I am going brushless with surface drive. I will start another thread and I will also need some help.
