newby in electric boats i run in gas but i have seen some art piece that call my atention so
im planning to get 2 dirty cheap 540 can motors with a 40 amps ESC (is that overkill or not enough???) with 2 packs of NIMH 1600mah at 8.4 volt. all this to a Outrigger Hydro (mostly foam to be light) my questions are im planning to put the motor direct drive no by gearbox (which prop size should i pick????? (i was thincking 40mm) 8.4 volt ar good or go higher volt or lower????? thxs in advance |
RE: help!
That is not enough esc. You will need 80amps or higher. Why not just go with a single 700 motor?

RE: help!
You might want to title your thread with something more specific than "help" I came in expecting to find somone drownding. [sm=drowning.gif] Seriously, it's my experience that if you include a little detail about your project, the experts in that area will come running.

RE: help!
Also, don't go with any batteries with a mah rating lower than 3300 if you can. Anything lower will not yield run times worth it.

RE: help!
I agree with wheelnut in going with a 700 motor. They are great. Match it up with A Jeti Navy ESC and 12 IB or GP cells of at least 3300mah. Run somewhere around a 42mm prop such as an X642.
