Need some help here
How do I check this out to see if its working?
I have a digital meter for testing. Futaba R142JE AM 2 channel 75 MHZ This was dropped. How would you check the crystal to see if it is good. Also are their and fragile parts inside the box that might break when dropped? Is it possible to open this box? If so, what should I look for? http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...3/IMG_1216.jpg |
RE: Need some help here
Check by hooking it up to a 4.8v battery and some servos. To check crystals I usually swap them out and compare results. The case may be opened by inserting a slot head screw driver and prying the tabs open. There may be 2 or 4 tabs.
I have dropped a few receivers from brutal plane crashes and had no problems. The most fragile parts were always the servos. Ryan |
RE: Need some help here
The simplest way is like Ryan said, hook the thing up and see if it works. A multimeter can be used to check specific things about a receiver, such as power usage and distribution. After that, it usually requires more sophisticated test gear than just a multimeter. And if you aren't at least somewhat familiar with electronics, opening that receiver is a waste of time, there are no user serviceable parts in there.

Thanks for the replys. It started working. I have no idea what was wrong.

RE: Need some help here
Was it wet possibly? And as far as tracing connections using a multimeter, its probably easier to just buy a new receiver. Just from a time vs price perspective anyway.
