Quick question about ESC's
Just bought a Astroflight 020 motor(20-22amps), came with a generic looking 25amp ESC. It dosn't seem to have a voltage cut-off for lipo's. (nothing in the manual) Thats probably why I think it looks generic
So I've got a eflite 40amp esc with the programable voltage cut-off. I'm thinking of using this one instead of buying a lipo protector thinger-bobet which would just add weight and I'm doing a micro boat. I know 40amps is alittle doublekill, however the weight of the esc is only 5grams more if that. So finally, my question. Is there anything to gain by using the esc that came with the motor? Is there any negative effects towards using the eflite-40amp? (besides weight) edit: One more question. Should I still bother cooling the eflite esc if its almost double the rated amps of the motor? I only ask b/c it will save weight. I intend to cool the motor. |
RE: Quick question about ESC's
I email astroflight and I was suprised to get a responce no more then a few hours later. They said it has auto cut off and its a phoenix 25 esc. I emailed them back once more to ask the voltage it cuts off at.
