Marine ESC Problem
I have a mate who has an issue...
he recently purchased a cheap EBAY marine ESC-50 (50amps) by Himark (we thinks) and when we plug it into the twin screw (two 550 type motors) boat nothing happens. The ESC is supplying power to the receiver fine, as we have servo control, but nothing is happening to the motor, I am guessing that the ESC may be a Dead On Arrival (DOA), but is it possible that you can’t run two motors in parallel? It probably serves him right for buying a cheap ESC, but he is trying to make a cheap toy for his nephew with a bunch of spares that he has laying around, and this is about the only bit that he had had to buy. Does anybody have additional information or experience with these types of ESC’s? Cheers |

RE: Marine ESC Problem
Why would it be cooked, as it sounds like it never worked from the word go?
Most ESC need to be programmed, wouldn't this one be the same? Not knowing anything about this ESC I couldn't give you instructions on how to programme it, but I am sure someone else here has had an ESC like this and could offer some instructions on how to programme it. Perhaps something on the board has a dry joint and may need to be resoldered. I can't imagine that it would have a solid warranty coming from ebay. |
RE: Marine ESC Problem
I dont know I have always had them work even without programming they just did not work to the fullest of there capability that one sounds cooked on the mosfets
