sv27 question
 

ok i m ordering a sv27 very soon and i was wondering what prop and batterys to run. other thing to get a top speed of about 45-50. what battery or setup should i run.
i hear people running stock motor esc but with what battery and prop will the boat do 45-50??

i have read threads but all are saying this props good that props good this and that and im wondering what size i should run.
the battery i didnt fell like reading that thread (after 3 hours of reding the other 2 threads)
the batterys i c most people run 4200 but what about 4800
ive seen a sv go 48mph.
it handled a lil bad but it stayed in the water. (wind was cause)

i want it to be like this
would a cf 48 prop be goos with a 4200 battery??

to be honest, you would probably get a bit better performance out of a nicely BSP'd metal prob. From what I've read, x642 and 440/3 seem to be the fastest props that are readily available. Also, it depends on the batteries and the motor... Unless I've missed a good bit of reading, I don't think you'll really get close to 50 without some lipo's and an upgraded motor.

I use the 440/3 and am very happy with it. Others report good speed from CF48 props but this is an aggressive prop and may overload your ESC depending on what batts you use. The standard motor and ESC should get you to low 40's with a good prop and some good batts or lipos. Beyond that you'll need a motor and ESC upgrade.

40 is a lofty goal on nmh, and you wont get there with a CF48 (but you'll have fun trying). Don't plan on ever going 50 with the SV. It's just not realistic. You'll be invested in lipos by then and a new motor and ESC. Andy then you'll decide the hull isn't stable enough. Guess what? That's a different boat! 50's are too much for a 27" V hull (IMO).

This is all true. though I've said my SV goes 50, that is SV hull/hardware only, and the boat is not raceable at that speed. I burnt my stock ESC and motor (seperate incidents) in my Pmono SV and replaced them with a barracuda 125 ESC and an Ammo 2300kv motor. I wouldn't have done it, but I had the parts from other projects. You'd spend nearly $1000 for an SV that goes 50 if you want my setup. Shoot for 40mph with reliability/stability and see what happens.
CF48 will limit run time and heat everything up alot. You also have to learn to work your metal props. I have great teachers in my local club that have helped me get the most out of my props.
I won't be running my SV in Pmono next year...getting a bigger boat. Why? because the SV can't handle race water at the speeds I'd like to be running. Like 50+.[sm=devious.gif]

hi crazy.

i am running stock sv 27 ,exep for prop oc x440/3 bal,shap.
lipo trackpower 4900 mah.
trim tab at 7 and 6 degree.
it is more stable at 40 mph then it was at 30 mph............

i am running betwin 40 and 45 mph........(flat water not jumping all around)

jumping all around (chop water),i had some 50+ mph....more luck then anything.(thats the number they give you normaly).

at 45 mph the motor pull 60 amps.its over the esc limits (because it last for about 2 to 3 sec for 300 feets).
but it seem to hold on ?

for over 50 mph need new motor and esc......(esc i buy for the next step hydra 240,motor not sure prop a neu motor)

i dont wana race. i just wana have a super fast boat w/o goin crazy on it. 40-45 mph is good.

that's cheap. once you start getting the blades modded they're a lot more expensive. I got my X440/3 balanced/sharpened, cupped & bar cut. wasn't cheap compared to the stock prop, but well worth it.
