mini v battery

A Dynamite 7.2V 1100mAh NiMH Battery pack in a mini v,

It's a 5 cell pack and the proboat pack is 6 cell, and I'm not sure if the plug(connector) is the same as the esc, is it a direct drop in still?

Is is better than the proboat pack?

And does it fit snug into where the battery would normally sit?

Thanks.

you mite wont to redo your math 7.2v is 6 cell 6v is 5 cells and the dynamaite pake has the same hpi connecter as the mini-v but i wouldnt wast my money on the dynamite or the proboat packs by the way are the same pack there both made by horizon hobbys . i would go with a lipo 2 cell

RE: mini v battery

Sorry, you're rite, it's a 6 cell. We picked one up today for my dads b'day present(mini v). He asked for an upgraded battery pack and this is what the guy handed him. Also he asked if he could get a lipo pack and the guy said the stock boat can't use a lipo because it has no cut off. My dad's taking me to the hobby shop tomorrow so we can watch a big annual race, so I was thinking if they have the proboat pack and charger for $20 maybe we should do an exchange, the people there are really nice and have no problem with that stuff, it's still in the package.

If it's the exact same cells as the mini v pack then why wound it cost $5 more and not include a charger? Is the mah different or the cells are better or something?

One more question to throw in, is the mini cat any faster than the mini v?

Thanks.

you see it all the time just under a diffrent name but made at the same place . the v and mah are the same . same batterys e-flite,proboat and dynamite are owned by horizon hobbys and you can run a lipo when you see the boat start to slow down bring it in and charge or you could install a lipo cut off inbetween the battery and rx . the mini cat has the same everything but the hull . it mite me a little fast becouse of less drage but i could be wrong i havent seen it run .

sorry there is a 100mha diffrents in packs so the dynamite is maybe 5-10 % better . but thats just in run time only maybe 2-5 min

I just picked up a SMC 1400 today for my V and it's very quick. I plan on getting a lipo after I put the mamba 25 comp X in it. I got the SMC pack for $25.00 which is the same price as the pro boat combo at my lhs. I've had good luck with smc cells in my cars so I figured it would be a lot better than the 1100 mah prbo packs. And I allready have 3 ni/mh chargers and 1 lipo charger. My charger charges the 1400 pack in like 20 min, compared to 2 hrs or whatever the prbo one does it in.

Ok, thanks for mentioning SMC, that seems like a good option.
Any I just bought a Losi 7.2v charger with the same type plug so that should charge any / all of these packs nicely.

In case it ever somes up, you can also buy (If your LHS doesn't have mini v batteries) the battery for the Losi Mini T. It's the same pack with the same connector as the Proboat pack. I have no Mini V batteries in town, but everyone has the Mini T battery. They now know that the packs are identical.
