G-Freak FE hydroplane ??

first timer, im very interested in getting into the FE boats . seen these on ebay they have 28" and 32" long hydros, does any one know about these and if they are any good... they seem to be a custom shop or something. i found them by typing "brushless hydroplane" the videos look good, any feedback will be greatly apreciated. Thanks

I think an AquaCraft UL-1 is MUCH better and less expensive. Even the New ProBoat is nicer and has better motor etc... nearly the same hull too if not a knock off..??

500 bucks for a hydro without a turn fin.......don't waste your money. go for the ProBoat Elam or AQ UL1.

I was going to say, "why doesn't it turn very well??" Thanks Doby, I forgot that also.

You will be much happier with the UL-1 or Elam ProBoat.

I can buy that motor and ESC on Ebay for less than $100 or close to it...

O.k. I'll stop bashing it... I just don't see how they sell at twice the price????

I went to go see the ul1 at the hobby shop yes it does have a huge turn fin but the steering gear is all plastic vs the aluminum on the custom boat ... and the motor is smaller, and the overall boat is smaller, and the custom one has higher rated amps esc it has a 90 amp cont. vs the 60 in the ul1. Does all this stuff even matter? im not sure. Im just trying to research and get the best for the money. They have a cheaper one that is 28 inches long it's not much more $$ than the ul1 . how hard would it be to put a turn fin on the custom one?

The videos in that listing are running on 6S lipo power. I would expect MUCH more speed running 6S.

I have to agree that the UL-1 seems to be a much better value.

Stick with tried and tue, Proboat or Aquacraft are better options like others have said here. I have the UL-1 and love it and if something goes wrong, these two companies will more then likely make it right, can't say the same for this "G-Freak" stuff.

ill check into it my friend has a ul1 he runs 14.4 volts, and we clock it at 44mph consistantly the guys from g-freak told me that they run thiers dual 3s in paralell like 3s 9000mah and they clock it at 50-55 so i figure if i run 4s on it it should be pretty fast... im wondering if i should go with the rest or get a custom setup type deal... thanks for all the feedback though and you guys have really good points..

There's no free speed. The UL-1 is running into trouble because it's built so light. If the G freak is going that fast on 3S it because it using a more amp hungary motor. less windings means more rpms on less voltage. The only thing is it's going to be pulling more current. I didn't think the G freak looked that fast. Also it was pricy.
