Mini Rio

I just purchased an Aquacraft MIni Rio from my LHS. I took out for a test run on the pond but had trouble getting it to plane off. I then brought it back to shore and hand launched it with the throttle open and it ran on plane. I figured that the battery must not have been fuly charged to i fully charged it and went for another but to get the same result of it not wanting to get on step. I also noticed this boat had some major cavitation problems. Can anyone help me with why this boat wont plane?

Well you can depitch the stock prop by heating it some with a heat gun and setting the trailing edge of the prop on a flat surface and pressing it down until its even with the main body of the prop. Or order an Octura x430 or y531 from www.offshoreelectrics.com. Also play around with battery placement front to back.... Check out my other post about the Mini Rio and all the other treads about it, they are very helpful. If you want some pics of my depitched prop let me know....Also check the gap between the stuffing tube and the prop shaft, should be a 2mm gap at minimum mine stays about 3-3.5mm.

If it ain't flipin' it ain't racin'.........

RE: Mini Rio

the space between prop holder and stuffing tube have to be there because the wire will shrink under load, also the stock battery need a couple of cycles before it reaches its full potential.
