Battery Problem
1 Attachment(s)
Hi people i think my battery has gone, its a 3s1p 3200 mah and i used it in a 32" cat running a little 380 long 2881 kv, the max amp draw on the barrery is 48amp and after the first run the temps were about 70c but the battery did,nt swell or anything so i charged it up again and went for another run the next day but it only lasted a couple of mins and did,nt seem to go as fast, So i charged it up again the next day and this time it only lasted about 30 seconds and now the battery will not charge, have i knackered the battery by drawing to many amps and if you look at the pic its looks a bit fluidy and and smells a bit funny. Like i said the battery never swelled up thx steve.

RE: Battery Problem
The problem im seeing is that 1 battery is too small to power such a hull and that motor is far to small to power a 32" cat.
You need to pump up to a 540-580 sized motor and you also need to jump up to a pair of 3s packs or 2s packs depending on your set up. |
RE: Battery Problem
wakeboard is right.
Most of us run 10000mah in these 33" hulls. batts come back cooler, longer runtimes. try 2 of these wired in parallel; http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9184 Brod.. |
RE: Battery Problem
Take the battery put it in a salt/water filled tub and let it rest submerged overnight for 24hrs. Come back same time next day, remove it from the tub and check the voltage. If it's close to 0.00v, tie the connector leads together and dispose of it.

RE: Battery Problem
If you go with the 25C version you should see better performance and you can possibly use it in another boat if you plan to add to the fleet. This will be more reliable and may have a lengthier life span.

RE: Battery Problem
I can only afford this 1battery at the moment 20c 5000mah 3s,will this be ok in the 32" cat with the 540 xl 2700 or will i blow the battery again i can,t see the boat pulling more then 80 amps surely or will it? thx

RE: Battery Problem
If you can only afford 1 battery then buy the 1 battery and wait.
If you run that 1 battery by it self your making a huge risk at damaging that 1 battery that you can only afford. Either buy that 1 battery and wait untill you can buy another or run the 1 battery that you bought for the few minutes that it will last and wait longer until you can afford 2 batteries. |
RE: Battery Problem
Do NOT run a swelled LiPo. This would be extremely dangerous, literally playing with fire.
