Thats a magic smell, lol...

I just use Alcohol and maybe Comet once you've removed everything from the boat, wash out and eventually over time it slowly fades but, never completely goes away.[:-]

Well, Once you remove the source of the smell, ie. electronics and gently scrub away ay any discolored hull inside, I would just use soap and water and eventually it will go away...

I tried with an automotive spray, sort of enzymes cocktail... gets the smell out of anything... it actually worked quite well.

Tried both, the XO worked better... but maybe it is just the sum of the two. You get the idea anyway.

Many solvents will react badly with plastics, so it depends on what your hull is made of. A club member used an automotive solvent on his ABS hull, and a few weeks later it started cracking and splitting - ruined. Fiberglass is more robust.

Denatured alcohol is probably the best safe cleaner. It will remove almost all the smell for good, especially if the hull surface is smooth. Use it liberally and most of the discoloration and smell will go. And it won't damage your hull.

after you give it a good wash, you could try leaving a small box/pouch of baking soda (arm and hammer) to absorb the smell as you wait for it to disappear. It is a magic smell, but alcohol will do the best job of removing it.

I washed it out with a all purpose cleaner yesterday and it still smelled but alot better and washed it out with the alcohol today seams like its almost all gone i can live with it i thinkthe smell that is still there has absorbed into the foam up front going to leave it for a bit and see how it turns out.

i want to thank you guys for your input.

Your giving me a quiet chuckle here.
I usually only write in Ryans elec outboard forum, but had to comment on this. I burnt up some elec's, so I can validate that putrid smell, the most foul odour that won't go away! You know what I did, or had to do by order of her indoors? Outside mate, in the yard! I wasn't happy.[:@] She was.:D.
As days passed I begged Cybil to be allowed to return my beloved tunnel inside, but Cybil said no mate! As weeks passed, small creatures began to pish on my boat. I live in Sydney son, so feral cats running around, fighting and erg, ah, doing cat things is not strange. After 3 weeks, the elec odour was replaced with cat pish odour. I hosed her down, not Cybil, and all is well. The boat is back inside, setup and being neglected.

Hope I helped

Peter

Coffee can absorb garlic breath, so it sounds o.k.
