will variant A work to improve hull stability, or is it variant B only.

(varient A is just a 2mm styrene strip glued to the inside of the sponsen)

I would go with "B" since it is truer to real life and similar to Hanspeter's cats.

It should improve stability all around. Try to mount the drives as low and to the center of the hull as possible.

See a Thread started by "RULL" (aka Serge) and he has done this mod to his HOTR cat.

It is approx. 1/4" x 1" and the angle ends up approx. 14 Degrees.

mine is single screw , but i can still get that drive close to ``in line`` with the centre line of the hull length, because i definitely dont want the propshaft hanging down at 3 degrees, or she'll lift her bows....this means that i might have to mod the rudder assy, by lifting it up 2 degrees, whatever the case, i'll be able to suss this out somehow

It will make the hull more stable, single or twin drive.

Rudder is always mounted staight and centered.

yea' this cat is as twitchy as hell on youtube, probably because its motor is a 6T with too high a KV rating, but it'll be ok , just needs a bit of strengthening here and there; plus the sponson mod..

there's loads of time till next summer and it's far too cold until about the end of April , so there's no hurry to get on the water!

variant A is out of sense. The hull with A will be able only to go straigth and can`t turn. The A is the same like without modification but with additional water resistance.

variant B it is then, right i'll need to pop into B & Q this weekend, take a look at their wood mouldings, i've definitely seen triangular cross section by about 8ft long, but i cant remember where!

it's the first video of her where she actually looks 32'' long, in others she only looks about 27'', when i told that bloke in Germany that i was going to spray mine black, he said; ``never black, she wont show up well enough, always go for light and bright colours``.

the hor Apparition 120 amp ESC ( Astec), is right on the limit for the 580/7T motor, it therefore isn't good enough; so that will need upgrading

if i go for this 580 motor, i may as well get the hull only; because all the rest is not up to it, decisions...........decisions !!!!

go for the hull mate, that way, you can get everything you need in whatever sizes etc

i'm sat scetching some ideas for an outrigger plan, got the general plan just need to decide how tall and wide the tub will be, i'll have to design it round the size of the battery i'll use and make it a certain height

im using 2 of them on my 12XL motor, i connected 2 ends together so inlet goes one side and into the other and through the outlet, the jacket i bought is to short and i cracked it, i put superglue inside and out then wrapped some hatch tape around the inside and out

that looks about right for its colour, i'm actually interested in buying the Hyperion P51 electric Mustang aircraft, but i'm scared of crashing it, i think a fast cat is far safer and less costly, after all; it can only flip over!

nice looking boat

had my mini mono on the water today, it states that this boat is self righting but all it did was an impression of a dead dog with its feet in the air

i want to put the battery over the keel line in roughly the same place it was on the left side but dont know if to move the motor forwards or backwards

yes exactly, but at least it's only capsized and not hit the ground at 70 mph, because right now i'm not sure if i should buy an aircraft or a boat, but common sense tells me that i'll smash up an aircraft on its maiden flight and waste over 150 quid................sod that!

i couldn't get Magin 1 to self- right either, she just lay upside down in the bath, the water wouldn't even flood her chamber! i'll buy a cheap fishing rod for the hor 32''

sounds good to me mate

im just wondering wether to add trim tabs to my mini mono, was thinking of moving the motor forward by 3 1/2" and mount the batt on the keel line but it does meean a new shaft and stuffing tube

i just made a phone call about the RC Hyperion Mustang P51 D, it's not recommended for a first aircraft, he said i must learn to fly a trainer first! i suppose he's right, he said its too lively, it would crash strait away; if you're not used to the controls.

i thought so anyway, oh well; i'll get the Hor apparition instead, hull only.

start with a micro heli and work up, thats what i did in the end, i still got it actually just dont use that much
