WOW, check this one out guys. It looks so cool. The hull design is a little strange though..i want it! What do you think?

I bought one several months ago but it has European hardware, mine the drive shaft is larger than 3/16"!! and in order to remove it you have to do it from the motor side (pull it off toward motor)because the flex end has square section that slip into the drive shaft. The next problem is the strange design in the front, in slow speed the water will be channelled toward the hatch and INTO the hull. I spend a lot of time water proofing the hatch. The boat is also very heavy. It's so heavy that the stock motor with 3S will barely get it on the plane. You may have to adjust the drive angle to help this. The low tips of the wings are also dragging and to make a matter worse, they were about 1/8 thick at the tips whcih I later sharpen them off. I put the Feigao 540 9XL with 4S and it still somewhat under power, so now I have the Feigao 850 8L but I had to move the motor backward to correct the CG (it's way forward to begin with) which required the cut open on the back top. I didn't get a chane to try the new setup yet because the pond is frozen.:D I may end up cutting the tips off the wing. In stcok form, the boat makes funny loud noise just before it gets on the plane and I think it's the loose fit shaft and weak support. If you want to get one, search carefully on the site, there are several more with better prices. Mine has offset rudder setup though.

Thanks for all the details. Does it come with a 540L motor? I have a 540XL 1200KV and also a Feigao 580 1600KV but it is currently in my 55" boat Darter King. I was working on that boat and my Thunder T6 charger overcharged and ruined a bunch of my batteries and i ran out of money to continue. 8( I just bought Hyperion charger and it is great although i am supplying it with my marine battery as i havent' bought a power supply. I just ordered 2 zippy 4S 5800MAH Lipo 30C from HK. I think the 2075KV is a too high for this motor, should be around 1200KV. Fiegao 580 is a bit overkilled for this boat as i saw what it could do to my 55" Darter King 8)) crazy, nearly flipped it with two 5S.

Maybe i should wait for the Venom's King of Shaves 8))

Another down side of the boat is the water pickup which is the integral part of the drive strut and it is way too small and you can't enlarge it. You will have to either cut asemi-circle brass tube to cover it or fabricate another water pickup, which I did by attaching the brass tube behind the rudder blade.

I am surprise to hear that the Fiegao 580 with 2x5S can push the 55" Darter King that fast because I am thinking of putting the Little Screamers 63mm Outrunner Motor ( http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...ls-63outrunner ) in place of my modified 30cc Homelite in the 48" Aeromarine Offshore.

At first, I had been running 3000KV+ motor but now I am going with 1750 - 2000KV with more cells to be easy on my ESC.

BTW, the stock motor that comes with the boat is 540 but not the 540L. It has a built-in water jacket that makes it looks long.

Tanasit-Experts seem to recommend going low kv and higher volt. I would choose my motor around 1200KV and batteries 14-18V
540 is no good for 33" boat. 540XL 1200-1600KV would be enough to make that boat jumps.

Does anyone know if this boat has brushless setup? Hobbytron isn't so good at customer support.

Hi Chickendog,

This boat comes in various colorschemes and motorisation from several Chinese suppliers, judging by the 7,2V Nixx battery supplied, it will be equipped with a 550 motor, reducing it to a toy.

Swap the motor for this one:

In general LOW kv and high cell count is a way to go but you have to consider the hull size and shape and the battery weight it can handle too. I ended up with the 580 8L 1649KV but I had to move the motor back for proper CG, which required a new motor mount and now the drive line is only about 6" long. I knew that it would be difficult to service the drive shaft once the motor is installed far back, so I made up 2 parts motor mounts, one of which sits on the rail that was epoxied to the hull bottom. To remove the motor, I just unscrew 2 bolts and slide the whole unit out. My first run was with 4S 5000 mAH as seen below and I will try 5S 1000 mAH today.
