Back normal now!
Have also finished with the props this evening, it's a maniac's job for me, because getting them perfect took me a life's time!

WD200 has sent me my order today (gearbox, trim tabs, fuel tank), now it's only up to RCMK to get a move on!

I am now looking in to 4 channel land radios, and have encountered the new Futaba PK4-S.
Does anyone have experience with this product?

Hello Again, and welcome to a new small step towards completion!

Today I received the parts from Dieckman at WD200, and have done most of the work in assembling the clutch to the engine.
Stopped at the end because I'm out of liquid sealing for the gbox...

So, here are the parts:

An here is the clutch mounting, step by step:

Hi adrianojp,
Nice build! Keep up the good work! I am also planning on buying the WD200 Gearbox 1. I have a question for you you sir. Did the Gearbox 1 come with a set of clutch shoes or not? I did not see it pictured on the post. Secondly can you please show me a picture of the gearbox's cap interior. I'm just really curious as to how it keeps the oil in without leaking out.

Many thanks,
Jun

Hi, the cap inheritor is the part on the right of thefollowing picture. It keeps the oil in it thanks to liquid seal (red paste) that is not provided in the package- you need your own.
The clutch shoes are included, as all the rest you need (apart from the gbox oil).

I am thinking of building two, low profile custom carbon rails for this engine.
The idea is to unite them on the pull starter side with a third piece of carbon that has the boat's 'V' hull's shape.
To end, I could fix this assembly to the hull with some heavy carbon material I have here & Epoxy glue.

This is the piece of 2mm carbon I have lying around, but I think I will be going with a 3mm and longer piece, in order to use both the gbox supports:

I have just got home with the painted hull. In my advice, Cisko has done an AWESOME job!
In real life it is so similar to the real Cigarette AMG that I couldn't believe it!

Have had him paint also the original hatch, that is not scale to the real boat, but looks good too!
Sorry for the poor picture quality, took the pics with my mobile.

Please refer to page 1 of this Discussion for the pictures of the real thing.

Enjoy!

Thank you mate!

I am so happy how this paint job came out. It cost me the same vaue of the whole hull, but it is worth the 1st class build I am trying to do!
NowI am just waiting for the new Arneson drives from RCMK, they are the only part missing.
In the next days, there will be a lot of work to show.

Am sorry about the qty of these pics, will have a friend -pro photographer- have a shooting with it when done.

Cheers,
AJ

Yes, the drives would have really been perfect, but I am looking forward to the Arneson's too... I am looking in to a mod that will make them trimmable by servo!
Please ask RCMK for the price when they come out in December.

Cheers,
AJ

Hi AJ all i can say is WOW she came out beautiful m8,bet you cant stop smiling .
I was going to suggest having someone take some profesional photos of her but glad to see you have it sorted.
Your friends who own the real one will be really impressed with your build when they get to see it.
Its great to see someone building a scale boat from one of my hulls,im as exited as you are as to how she turns out.
Cant wait to see your progress as i know this things going to be awesome.

Cheers for that, the boat will be running in Spring time, am taking all the time to make it as perfect as possible!

Have taken apart the gearbox today, because I could feel some mechanical interferance in the bearings while turning the assembly by hand.
Now the issue is resolved...

Have also been doing some hull balancing and thinking of the best inner component placing.
Do you prefer option 1 or 2?

the bare hull is balancing out at 42% of its lengh

Component Placement option 1#

Component Placement option 2#

Have also cut out the Carbon 3mm engine rails

I personally marked my CG (bare hull and hatch) inside the hull and I Ialso installed a Manual Kill Switch on the deck to mark its CG for quick referrence. I then permanently installed all my hardware and radio equipment firstand left the Power plant and Fuel Cell last (full) for installationto counter the rest of the weight. My boat always lands flat on the water when it gets airborne. I can easily shift the CG by moving the IV bag or use the trim tabs. if I need to.

Yes, your approach is more than right.
Presently I am only doing initial considerations, as the drives have still to arrive from RCMK, and I am now building the radio box...

Thank you for the advice,
AJ

Your main concern will be with where the engine will need to go to allow you to keep the pipes in the hull. The one i just built for a friend i kept the pipe inside with just the stinger part exiting the transom which worked well with a pipe length of 12"measured from flange to wide part of pipe arround the header bend. This placed the plug on the engine at arroung 16 1/2" from the transom ,if i were you i would fit the pipe on the header for the rear head then measure its length so you know where the engine will fit with just the stinger through the transom then you can hopefully work out how best to balance the boat by moving the tank and radio box arround etc,you may find having one pipe run forward may work better for balancing and been able to keep it inside the hull.
