I have an old boat that belonged to my dad when I was a kid (20+ years ago). From what I remember it never ran real well. I decided I'd like to work on it as a fall/winter project with my son (8 years old), except I have no idea where to start. It looks like a tunnel hull from what the google has shown me. It has a K&B 3.5 outboard (gathered from the stampings and a google search) and futaba controls. Any videos, info, input on where to start, where to look, etc. would be much appreciated. What to replace from the get-go? How to see what might be salvagable? What to look for to figure out exactly which engine to buy parts for? Where to start with a rebuild? I'd like to save whatever I can just for the sentimental aspect as my dad is no longer with us. I have a some pics that I can post later if anyone is interested. Thanks in advance.
