Depends on the type of hull you want to buy. A hydroplane would be different than a vee hull for example

In a Mono - most likely the AC Lazer 40" - great boat but not really a 'starting out' boat - not much room and hard to control at speed - and smaller boats are not rough water boats

In a Cat many like the Sprint Cat but there is a AC Flash Cat 40" and Blast Cat 40" (Rough water ran boat - doesn't run great on flat water)

Go to my site below there is many videos of Lazer 40" and Blast Cat.

I am doing a 36" Cat but believe me it's a "B" to figure stuff out to fit.

Jetboats can be quite short - helped by a reasonably compact driveline.

I had an electric hull that was ridiculously short and small that I started to shoehorn a gasser into but realistically it would likely flip the first run.
