this is my first RC boat so I’m on a steep learning curve
any advice is appreciated

That's going to be a hard one to find. Either make one out of aluminum or change the rudder system on it.
Just remembered about these ones on the Dumas site.May be the same size. You would have to call Dumas to see. https://www.dumasproducts.com/produc...1436-kit-3506/

Prather made them he then sold the business to Hyperformance Products, Inc. Online Catalog but I don't think that he has any.
The boat can be run with just the right rudder if need be.
Pro Boat messed up big-time as there were a lot of broken rudders so they has to replace a LOT of them. The problem arose because they used 2 bolts to hold them in place instead of using a bras or aluminum shear bolt on the bottom then cracking to steel bolt just a hair loose. This didn't allow the rudder to swing up in case it hit anything.

I don't know if you contacted Dumas about the rudder, but I did and got a reply yesterday. They stated that their #3507 rudder is 4.5" long x 1.25" wide .Your rudders on your boat if original are also 4.5 " long.Maybe order two so they're matching set. Your hull has been repainted from the original SS version. Here's the email I got and a pic of a rudder on a Shockwave SS.

Thank you for your inquiry. The rudder blade on the #3506 rudder measure 4" long and 1.25" wide. The rudder blade on the #3507 is 4.5" long and 1.25" wide. The #3507 is the rudder we used on the 38 KV. Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Doug
