RE: SHOW US YOUR GAS BOATS!
I have seen these hulls on ebay and was interested. I was about to purchase one, but was reluctant due to the high shipping, ($120.00 or more). Have you found them somewhere with more reasonable shipping? If so post a link...

Nocturnal,
I purchased the boat (with servos) at the iHobbyExpo held recently in LA. I made the guy an offer at the close of the show--he probably didn't want to ship it either since he was out of Hong Kong and his next major show was in Germany. And since I drove my SUV down to LA for the show, I had room to haul it back.
Ron,
I'll try to take some more photos tonight. The bad thing is that there is a boat race here this coming weekend, but I'll be racing out-of-state at a CAR race and still have to get ready for that one. Even if I didn't race, I would have liked to check it out. For the remaining electronics, I'll probably go with the Spektrum receiver (and use my Futaba T3PK) and hook up a small 6-cell "Mini-T" pack or maybe a 5-cell hump pack like I use in my mbX5 buggy.

That's the great thing about going to the shows on the last day. I've gotten some very good deals on stuff just because people don't want to haul things back home. The bad things are that a lot of the good stuff is gone. I bought 3 gallons of fuel from one dealer in Toledo for a song because it was all that he had left and wanted to get his booth closed up and get home early.

Attached are a few more photos. If I need to modify or change anything, please let me know before I try it out. I'm assuming I need to silicon a few areas.

yep davcruz, i believe you right. good eye, i did not see that. but i still confused (no surprise!) was the ring welded and faired into the head so that it looks like it doesn't even exist? and what kind of motor is that? i'm not trying to scrutinize your engine i'm just really curious!

I guess with a hull that unique it's hard to go with rails. Have you tried er out yet? How does it handle? What speed?

I just like playing with the toys. As a matter of fact, I need to start cycling some batteries or rather should have already done that while playing on the computer.

I wondered about the receiver box too. I was thinking about putting the receiver in a balloon filled with air/styrofoam since I would like to switch out the receiver since I planned to use the Spektrum. The prop does seem pretty low, but dang the boat looks cool. It's too bad you won't be attending the boat race this weekend--I'd be tempted to pass on my California race.

RE: SHOW US YOUR GAS BOATS!
Good pics, now I see how the cooling is done. It is an external ring, JB Welded to the machined down cylinder. Almost like the old Octura Cool Rings. Any idea what cc the engine is?
