I have recently milled down the head on my 25 cc homelite so I could make a water cooled jacket for it.After milling it down I noticed there is a very small pin hole just above the exhaust port that goes straight through into the cylinder combustion chamber. What exactly is the purpose of this hole and is it possible for this hole to be blocked and the motor still run correctly?
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks,
don haymann

haymann,
That little hole bleeds off a little compression for starting. Go ahead and thread it and put a small screw in it. Don't disturb the plating in the cylinder if you can help it. Be sure your screw doesn't protrude into the cylinder either, for obvious reasons. Best to ya!

check out copper plumbing stub off caps, ends of aluminum baseball bats or caps for chainlink fencing posts all of these are easy solutions for cooling rings and are a snap to convert and readily available. after you are watercooled remove the fins off the flywheel ..... but dont remove the dogs for the starter. rebalancing the flywheel usually is required because equal amounts are removed circumferentially... ok around the outside
