Default First Build ?'s

Hy, I'm looking at building my first boat which is either a Magnum 57 from Whobbies or the new XXX or the Signature 57 from Aeromarine. I would like to know everything about how to build a boat, where to get the plans, what to get for the build, and CG's for the engines. The way I see it, if I can learn to build a boat, I can save up to $500.00 at Aeromarine building one myself. Thanks a lot guys, all help is much appreciated, Frog.

ONe more thing, I would like to take the 57" signature and put a QD 4 cylinder 140cc 28hp engine in that? Think it would work? Thanks, Ken.

PS- If I staggered them, could I get 2 in a 84" apache?

Frog, You are taking on a HUGE project with what you described in both initial cost and time. ( $5,000 to $8,000 in parts alone) If you really want to learn, start with something less ambitious like a single in a V bottom. With a little effort you will have the basics and a sucessful project to "build" on.

I was just joking about the twin 4 cylinders in the Apache. Although I would like to get a boat like that eventually, I wouldn't even consider one rtr, it's too much. ON a serious not, all the stuff in the first message is true. I would like some help, seriouslly. Thanks, Frog.

I know most of the Aeromarine hulls come with Blue prints that show where everything goes in and on the hull. I have found the best way to setup any hull is to find someone that has one that runs nice and copy their setup.

HOw much did it cost if you don't mind me asking? It's rtr with radio? How long did it take them to build it? Thanks, and how much do you think I would save building it myself? Thanks, Frog.

It cost $1,450. RTR with radio. It would have saved me about $200 to build it. It took about 4 weeks to get the boat built.

I didn't see any specs on the site, but do you know how long it is and what the beam is? THanks, Frog. Think I could do it myself and do you know if the kit would normally come with directions? Thanks, Frog.

I just got the boat today. They did a great job building this boat, no complaints about the attention to detail and gel coat. The boat is 46" long and the beam is 12"1/4 wide. The shipping package said the boat weighs 10 pounds. The boat has a very low pro file, with a good dead rise at the stern. I can't wait to run this boat.
