I think mount MTI or Cougar but....
I wanted to know which are the benefits and differences among a motor QD and a Zenoah modified by Hanson.
I refer as for parts, spear parts, setting, cost, service etc.
the Reason wants to mount a MTI or a Cougar with two motors and I want to know that I need it, to touch 75+mph.
it is only for personal use, it doesn't competition in any category.
only finding speed.

The QD will be substantailly faster than the Hanson Zenoah. There are faster zenoahs on the market that would close the difference between the qd and the zenoah. If you are new enough to the hobby to ask this question, it is unlikely that you will see anywhere near 75 mph. If you can afford the qd's go for it, if not, I would pick a faster zenoah than the hanson. Spare parts for the zenoah and qd are both plentiful. Just be prepared to pay more for the qd parts and service.

Another thing is also the mentioned price difference. I have a QD25HT and i am currently looking for full mod Zenoah.
I dont now if it is just me but i have been asking around from the most recomended Zen modders.
What i have found is that a full mod Zen is is about $50 cheaper than the QDHT.
That $50 will have to be spendt several times if you have to replace only the sylinder and piston of a full mod Zen.
To put in a new sleeve in the QD cost $100 and the piston is a standard Zenoah. Crankshaft is also standard Zenoah.
The only reason i am looking for a Zenoah is that i want to partissipate in a race now and then.
Having a Zen in my cat will allow me to enter a class it belongs in.
If it was my boat and only for playing i would go for 2 x 25HT
I am a total Newbie to RC boats, but i do know a thing or two about motors.
My Conquest did 62mph the fourth time it was on the water, and i havent even tried to set it up for max speed.
If i try to i think it should hit 70 quite easily

I have a Al's(BH Hanson) full modded 260 on my Stryker Cat for over a year, it does same speed as QD 25 4 bearing does by cut the spark plug but only lost on corner, it never had the problem, I've sold 4-5 DQs on ebay for last two year due to couldn't afford the repair cost.

stop to be that I am now confused for that some speak that they are good the QD and truly they are it and others that are good but their repair is expensive,
But compared with a zenoah the difference in price it is not considerable, since a modified zenoha generates 5.6HP while a QD 7.1HP are speaking of 1.5HP of difference, that difference will be considerable in the water then.
It will be worthwhile then since it is not much the diferenci to buy a QD if or Not.
Good in fact that it is it but it frequents that is damaged in a QD? do they suffer of some damage? How accepted they are for those that buy it? are they completely satisfied?
Somebody that takes me out of doubts, or alone people buy zenoah mainly for that are but economic, although is not a lot.

depends who mods the zenoah i know Dave Marles 5 times world champ has a 7.3 hp zenoah wether it makes 7.3 hp or not is a bit of a touchy subject on here but wether it does or not it has beat qd 25 and 35 engines in races some by 4 laps so its a proven winner[X(].heres a link to it read it for yourself.it won the biggest race in europe a cpl of years ago by 3 laps in the final.these races last for 20 min heats and 30 min finals i believe so the engines need to be reliable as well as fast.

heres a vid of the very first run of the panther boat with the zen 7 speaks for itself 60 mph before it was dialed in [X(].

My experience with a well modded Zenoah and a QD25 has been that there really is not a noticable difference in performance. It is not like the QD's humiliate any zenoah - not even close. Theres more performance gains by changing a prop or knowing how to tune a motor than you will ever see between a well modded zenoah and a QD or for that matter between a QD and a well modded Zenoah. I am sure if you saw 10 boats running with canopies you would not be able to pick which boats are running QD's and which ones are running Zens.
I would not read too much into the HP claims by QD or any motor builders. There are good builders and there are some fly by nighters. Stick with the guys who have been in the business for a while and have the . They are primarely just numbers and dont always equal a gain in performance.
