Yes.
Although it might not go very fast, and it will need some work to get it all together.
It might, depending on what you intend to do, be better to either get an RTR boat, or a second hand one.
Then you will know if you enjoy it.
I do.

yes you can use most weedy motors, most come with a clutch which is a bonus, use the square ended cable and this slots into the square hole thats that end sorted, the flex runs through a brass tube which will need to be bent with flex inside so you dont kink the tube to bring the flex inline with the motor the other end is attached to a ferrule with silver solder this is then fastened to a stainles steel solid shaft 1/4" once the flex is cut to length ,this rides in a strut and a drive dog goes on then your prop then a prop nut.heres a pic of the strut setup.all you need to do is make a mount to fix the motor into the boat .you need to have rubber dampers between the stringers and mount to stop vibration, these are easy to get from any boat outlet.the mounts can be made using aluminium angle and some imagination hope this helps.the tube is held in the boat using a tube holder which you can make see pic or buy,at the transom end i just silicone the tube in place in a sloted hole which allows for up and down adjustment.

will this be an open boat ? ie no canopy? if so air cooled is easy,if you want to run under a canopy my advice is get a zenoah as by the time you have converted a homie or similar to water cooled you would be as cheap buying a zen 260 gpum.

Check out Modelgasboats.com back issues for several articals on weedie conversions and boat applications. Lots of good advice.
Here is a direct link to an article that willl help you decide what weedie to start with and why. You will need to register with Model Gas Boats but it is well worth the time. http://www.modelgasboats.com/Magazin...a_Trimmer.html
