If it is a sport boat then it is often just a favorite number or a number used by the full scale boat.

If you race the boat and are a member of one of the national organizations there are specific rules that require the display of your membership number on the boat (in a certain sized format). If you plan on racing the boat you may want to review the rules of your specific organization - otherwise - you can get creative

Is there a number rule for IMPBA? I didnt see anything in the rule book, but maybe I missed it

In namba you will get a number when you become a member, and you can put that on the boat.

Matt... no number required for IMPBA.

NAMBA requires you to put your # on your boat if you are racing.
