Time to post some pics!

Looking fermiluar there Tony! Here is another bit of advice. Find another place to finish the build at, preferably the gagage. I was noticing all the stuff behind your boat. Now imagine it with 1/4" of sawdust over it![X(][X(] I built most of my E/V in the livingroom of a 1 bedroom apt in Denver. Not thinking, I started planing, and sanding. You can not imagine the mess that made![:@][:@] Luckily I moved to a house out in the country shortly after that. I did all my finish planing and sanding outside with a nice breeze to blow all the dust away! Just trying to give you a heads up so you don't have the problems I did. Good luck with the build, Brian

It's in the garage but I take it out into the driveway to sand on it.

I didn't get the stringers quite right at the front and my boat is going to be a little short![]

Stuff happens when you glue your fingers to the work. I now wear latex gloves so I can hold the pieces in place and the slip out of the glove and then use dedonder on the glove.

You really look stupid going down to your neighbors with a boat glued to your hand[:@]

Here's some more pics.

The bricks really held down the bottom great. It came out perfect with no hooks at all.

Being able to angle the building board allowed a lot of weight.

Good thinking Tony! I followed the book with mine ( I thought) and ended up sanding the BAGEZZIZ otta the bottom of mine to get it flat. That was months ago and I'm WAY over it now! LOL You won't know till you start sanding on yours, but I'm guessing it'll work out just fine. Keep it up! Brian

I've gotten my SIKK engine w/header and tuned pipe from Oneill Bros. Looks like quality stuff.

I had a prop delivered today, I ordered it balanced and sharpened. It came in with nicks on the outside of the blades and is extremely dull (it couldn't put a dent in balsa). Is this the way all sharpened and balanced blades are done??

Tony I have seen on a post some where that the prop should be sharp to where it could cut your finger if not caerful. Harold

If you bought a sharpened and balanced propshop prop....they come butter knife sharp (dull). You want it as sharp as it can be..

If I sharpen the blade will it need to be rebalanced?

Yes it will,you can do it balanced over two glasses on a bare shaft but to get it perfectly balanced a magnetic balancer is needed.You can also make a balancer using two razor blades sat in wooden blocks ,make sure they are level and balance the shaft on those.check out these videos on balancing props.theres 2 or 3 on this link.

Looks vary good Tony, your getting way ahead of me. Well when you get it done I will just have to come run yours for you LOL. If you got two single edge razer blades laying around bring them in with you tomorow.

Tony, If you haven't CA'd your windshield on yet and want to do a split windshield, here is what I did. I used the side pieces that came in the kit. Then I made 2 mock up center pieces out of the cardboard from a frozen pizza box. When I got the shape I wanted, I transfered the templates to some of the scrap wood from the kit and cut them out. I CA'd all that together carefully on top of the deck with some wax paper between the windshield and the deck so it wouldn't stick while I was lining it all up. When I was happy, I epoxied all the joints to beef it up. When that was dry, I CA'd the windshield to the deck lining it up with 2 pencil marks measured from the transom forewards, and the seam in the deck to center it up. Then I went back and epoxied some scrap wood into the corners all the way around the inside of it. It took some time, but I'm happy the way it came out! Brian

The split windshield looks great.

I'm going to do the same with mine except I've made some side rails that go all the way to the back of the boat. Them I plan on putting 1/4 X 1/4 all the way around inside about 3/16 down from the top to support a fiberglass cowl that KDOEM and I will build.

Thanks! A COWL??? You don't need no stinkin cowl! LOL Why is it all the Easy Vee builders want to put a cowl on these things before they've even gotten it wet? If you think water is going to pour into the carb, make a spray shield and be done with it. It is a good looking boat without one. Just my $.02c, but it's your boat. Brian

Hehe Brian you kill me mate but i have to agree ,ive run my woody for a year it keeps very dry inside the hull apart from when inverted haha.

No V stack Tony![:'(] I've never used one of those. My spray shield used to be a Hayes 2oz hopper tank. I millled the end off, then poked the carb mounting holes in it in a Bridgeport mill. It uses the carb bolts to hold it on. Brian
