Default Water Jacket Fitting

I know i'm being picky, but I need a 5mm 90 degree nickel plated water fitting for my SIKK engine.

I've been waiting 4 weeks for O'Neil Bros to get them in with no luck yet.

Anyone know where I might be able to pick one up? I've already searched the net for it.

Just make one, there are brass now, just solder one together, the water will keep the solder cool enough not to break. Polish it up real bright! That's what this hobby is about!

Mart
The fitting comes out of the top of the jacket, so a straight fitting has the tubing sticking way above the deck, it looks real weird.[]

Mr Mike
I found a 5mm brass bolt and drilled out the center and then a hole sideways into it and mounted the old 90 degree swivel on it. It's stronger than the original now.[8D]

Yeah Mart I saw those and the inlet on the side is a bigger fitting than the ones on the top.
Same amount of water going in and out so why not have just the 2 fittings?[sm=confused.gif]

Good job,
I think the 2 to 1 fittings are all the same size. I think it reduces the pressure built up so you don't blow off water lines. It lets you run one line to the exhaust manifold and one to the pipe too. Those O-ringed manifolds don't flow much water.

Thanks MrMike

That makes a lot of sense if you're running to two different places.

Thanks for the site Mart

Oneil Bros sent me a new jacket at a 40% discount and back ordered the 5mm fittings.

Got her running yesterday till she quit after about a minute. Can't get it restarted so i'll have to do some checking to find the problem. I was really looking forward to getting out on the pond for breakin.

Sounds odd mate have you checked the spark ? loose conection on the coil maybe?.What mounts are you using are they anodised i had problems with that ,had to file off some of the anodizing on the coil bracket to get a ground. You can also run a ground wire to the motor casing, funny thing is i didnt have a problem with the same mounts in another boat but in this one i did ,wierd. Also try a new spark plug .
